Dog & Bear Hotel Restaurant in Maidstone

What a lovely place. It's in a small village which is full of character and the hotel rooms are perfect. A great place to stay for a weekend away.

The service we received from Mark was fantastic. We had an issue with the shower which Mark did everything he could to rectify for us. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast menu was varied, with whatever you picked, cooked to order. All the staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful.

We had a meal here on a Saturday lunchtime. The food was delicious and very good value for money. The service was a little slow, but the hotel was busy. Yes, I will go there again. Thank you.

Bar much smaller than it appears. 6 of us booked for a one night stay (3 couples) but very limited number of tables available to accommodate us. We were going to ask if we could sit in the dining room when one became available which was lucky. Looking at the bedrooms on the website I thought we must be staying in a different hotel. Nothing like the images we saw. The bathrooms had very small showers, with grubby paintwork and silicone around the floor/skirting area. Our rooms were on the ground floor and all the windows were locked meaning no fresh air. Food at dinner was okay but no more than that and the menu fairly limited. Breakfast was better though. The staff were very friendly in fairness.

Lovely old building with lots if charm & character. Stayed over night . Room had everything you wanted & food in restaurant was very good. Great base to explore Kent . Will defo go back

It’s been a few years since I was in Lenham. Pretty village, but I never realised before this was actually a hotel still 😆Anyway. Popped in for a pint. Friendly and welcoming pub with good choice of beer. Clearly popular with the locals. Good sign.Will come back for lunch.Pretty place!

Had a really enjoyable stay at the Dog and Bear. Service by all the staff was really friendly & they were especially welcoming to our dog Teddy. Pub was great for dinner & drinks in the evening. Breakfast was also really good. Good value for the money & would happily come back in future!

We have stayed before, was great first time! Not disappointed this time! It is a very welcoming place,staff are excellent in all areas. The room we had was beautiful, very comfortable and just like everywhere very clean. Don't miss out on a bargain break here!

Great place to stay. In a small village. We went for my mums funeral and the staff did so much to make us feel welcome. It was amazing. Beds were comfortable for the night. Very homely feel to the place.Breakfast was included in the price. Breakfast was very nice one of the best breakfasts I've had in a long time. The price was very affordable. It was a very worthwhile stay. I would definitely go back again and just stay. Was very nice. Log fire burning. I have nothing but positive things to say about Dog and bear hotel.That was customer service at its best. I don't give five stars for much but this place was worth it.Thank you Dog and Bear for making my family and I feel very welcome in our time of need and stress.

The food was a little disappointing, was a small portion and very bland. I had to add a lot of salt which I never do and was still hungry afterwards. I expected more for the price. The staff were friendly and there was a nice relaxed atmosphere. I wouldn't eat here again, maybe just a drink.
