The Boathouse in Maidstone

Beautiful setting, lovely food, friendly staff. I really didn't mind being asked to go to the.pub counter to order, but I don't think it's right to expect the public to carry out their own drinks and food. I felt unsteady and saw someone trip slighltly and his beer tipped all over him and the floor and glass smashed. We are patrons not waitrons. Apart from that, I really rate this place and will visit again.

Has a pub ever been in a more beautiful location. Huge outside area with plenty of shaded areas for those who are not keen on strong sunlight. Friendly service, food is good with most meals around £12. I had grilled chicken salad. The chicken was coated with sumac which was tasty,juicy and was accompanied by a very tasty salad with shredded carrot and leaves seeds agave and orange pieces.My son had Firecracker chicken with rice. The chicken was coated in an Asian style bbq sauce,again very tasty.As you can see by the photos its right by the river Medway ( Yalding)There's parking at the back and on the nearby road. Yalding rail station is about 10 mins away and has an hourly service to/from Paddock Wood and to/from Maidstone West via the Medway Valley line.

Great food in a lovely setting. Just disappointed they don't do a Sunday roast in Spring / Summer. It's so good, we really missed it. The pie was REALLY good though

fish and chips 🍟 nice , chips seem home made and nice peas . onion rings nice , lovely setting massive change to the last time I came the whole pub has been extended and refurbed . alot of the parking is closed off and the old bridge is closed off don't no why . decent price aswell , friendly staff quick 👌 nice and warm inside . very clean toilets with disabled access for wide wheelchairs. Will be back again for something else the fish was nice but a little greasy . but was all home made . Will be back again .thank you.

I'm so impressed by this place.The menu has been really well thought through, not boring old pub grub, traditional dishes brought to life with care and intelligence whilst more exciting dishes have been allowed onto the menu to surprise and delight.The food came out excellently presented and it was all delicious. Standards way higher than what you'd expect from a kitchen like this.Front of house staff were also excellent. Accomodating, polite, friendly, helpful, they certainly showed us they cared about our experience from offering to find more cucumber in the kitchen when our toddler threw their own on the floor through to their great communication.I have been increasingly disappointed by expensive and awful pub meals lately, this place has really amazed me. Great job boathouse team, look forward to seeing you again soon.

Walked here from nettlestead along the river . A lovely Sunday dinner . Very tasty . Friendly staff . Nice clean toilets is always a good sign .

Our first visit - such lovely decor inside and out. Unfortunately it was too cold to sit in the garden but we had a lovely view from a round table by the windows, perfect for our party of six.We were very impressed with the quality of the Sunday lunch. Half a chicken or a mound of sliced roast beef with lovely veg accompaniments.Would highly recommend visiting The Boathouse.

Hands down the best burger I've ever had - the loaded fries were absolutely delicious! The waiters were very friendly and the food was excellent. Combined with beautiful nature, this restaurant located right on the river makes the perfect place to unwind and have a great time.

Incredible! What a gem… my friend took me here to try somewhere new, I’m vegan, she’s not , and we both loved it!Prices were reasonable … the loaded fries were insanely good and the chef did an AMAZINg job of veganising mine 🌊Location was beautiful, and the staff were fab… Greg.. I think… and … another wonderful girl with champagne coloured hair who’s into criminology both made us feel very welcome and taken care ofGO HERE ITS INCREDIBLEIt rained massive hail stones on one of the hottest days of the year so that was also interesting 😂✋😬 we got SOAKED running trough the storm to the car 😂
