absolutely fantastic experience today at Chequers. roast beef was outstanding and excellent service. Will be back as soon as we can. can't recommend it enough!

AlwYs seems a little on the expensive side. But reasonable food most of the time. Nice location , espcially as I live just up the road!

Found this pub by accident, beautiful setting, fabulous food and great staff. Even the regulars were friendly. Highly recommend and will definitely be going back. Absolutely worth 5 stars.

Lovely by the stream restaurant and bar, staff very attentive and polite, puddings were amazing and such a great atmosphere. Love the local dog and that it's dog friendly, big enough space out back.

Food was good and service excellent especially if you need gluten free food

AWFUL - One star for location. Zero for food and service. Visited 12 Sept. Sat in beer garden. Table was dirty despite pub not very busy. Ordered food and waited and waited and waited ...2 HOURS to receive £14 inedible chicken burger, sad minuscule £13 chicken Caesar salad that would have been small on a kids menu and $15.50 cheeseburger that was shockingly tasteless. London prices but 3rd world service. Over priced and underwhelmed. never again!

It's a shame when you find a really old looking pub with that really rustic feel to it that blares out C class pop music and, for some reason a slushy machine. The staff weren't very welcoming, they seemed like they would rather be doing something else. And the beer garden really needs some TLC. The pub has so much potential but as it stands and run, that's to be seen. Now for the good points. The food looked and smelled amazing, the served good local ales and the dog is extremely friendly.

Ex-ce-llent !Went to the Chequers Inn for the first time a few days ago and I was beyond impressed : booked in advance on their website, which was very easy and straightforward.Welcomed by the pub dog on arrival, so already a wonderful start ! The menu was lovely, there were 4 of us, a mix of meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans, and there were plenty of choices for everyone.The service was impeccable, we were informed of relevant themed nights, checked on regularly and the whole atmosphere was very pleasant.That plus the amazing quality and generous portions made it one of our instant favourite places and we can't wait to return.

It was a very quiet Wednesday lunchtime and very hot so we decided to eat indoors where it was cool. Service was very friendly and menu choice was excellent with a good range for vegetarians. Food was cooked and presented beautifully. Highly recommended.
