The Chequers Fish Bar in Maidstone

Great location with parking. Batter was very good. Cod was thick but small for £7.Would have been five stars at better price but considering the area this is what one would expect. Great service and good food.

Well popped down to see a mate .. he said he's got a great local chippy... friendly staff ✅️ good looking food ✅️ great tasting food ✅️ No bread cakes tho lol5 star's all day long.

Quality takeaway that arrived in good time despite it being a busy Friday night. Thought I'd try a 1/2 pound cheese burger and it arrived piping hot and tasted amazing. Definitely ordering again

Slow, but cooked fresh and fish batter thin and crunchy. Tables to eat at, both inside and out. Worth the wait.

Owner must buy cheapest or reject potatoes. Half of every portion of chips go in the bin cos they have blight or black lumps. Worst chips in Kent!

I was told this chipshop was one of the best in Kent, I think "Was" is right, I have had good food from there, but today for some reason, unfortunately it was very poor, the chips were splinters, the cod was dry, the tomato sauce in a tub was very bitter.It wasn't the usual happy bearded chap who travels from the Maidstone area.So for £9.60, not, as cheap as chips anymore, when I could have had a McD, meal, for far less, I won't be going back......

Over an hour and half to deliver 5 mins down the road. I could of gone to Folkestone got fresh off the boat and got home with it still hot. Disgusting taking more orders than you can supply in a reasonable amount of time is pure greed! Will never use again. Fish is fish.
