Excellent fish and chips, lovely fluffy crisp chips. But v poorly executed seafood linguine, greasy on the Paket and bland. A great shame because it contained a good mix of seafood n great quality squid. We weren’t asked if we enjoyed the meal despite my plate being half full at the end of the meal. Our shared starter was nice/unusual flavours, my husband loved it. Would go back for fish and chips. Also items off menu despite it being a very early seating.

The food took quite a while to be ready. It seemed like they were short on staff so the waiters would take a while to get even an appetizer to your front. The food was a bit bland in my opinion. It needed a lot more spice. I asked foe food to be very peppery and I could barely feel any heat. That was a bit disappointing for me

Celebrated my birthday here so went all out and ordered a fish platter. It was a treat but it was incredible!!! I've never had such nice and such fresh seafood before. I've found fish platters in other restaurants to not be as extensive as this one - you got a whole lobster and a whole crab plus 8 oysters etc etc so although it felt expensive, it was actually really good value compared to what you'd pay in fancier places in London or something. The prawns were huge.It's quite a normal looking cafe but the food is insane. I also love how pretty much everything is locally sourced, even the Kent wine and beers, or from somewhere in the UK aka Cornwall. Would highly recommend.

Lovely evening celebrating my husband and daughters birthday! Amazing service and food, the huge portions certainly not reduce the quality, this was such a great experience from start to finish.The atmosphere is really lovely. Nice touch that the chef came to our table to check all was good, a true professional and caring approach.Thank you!

Totally fabulous evening meal. The fish is cooked and flavoured to perfection. Loved everything! Impeccable staff, so helpful and friendly. The chef came out to check we enjoyed each course and had a chat with us. What a great team! Would definitely recommend a visit here. It'd not just for seafood lovers they have meat dishes too. And vegetarian options.

To celebrate our anniversary, my wife Jane & I booked lunch at the Square Fish cafe, being tempted by the seafood platter on the menu. We'd not been before but found the restaurant very pleasant, with a lovely view over the village church & pleasing decor. The staff were friendly & efficient, the menu varied & with a wine list not too expensive. Service was prompt & the platter did not disappoint, with a lovely selection of lobster, crab, langoustine, clams, crevette & mussels. Certainly will be going again & thoroughly recommend the Square Fish cafe.
