Lovely pub with the proper pub feeling. No music no TV just a big open fire excellent food and friendly staff. Even have a field at back for motorhomes/campers and building new pibs at the moment. Dogs welcome everywhere.

Really enjoyed this little country pub. Friendly staff and great atmosphere on the night we went. They had a great jamming session going on between local musicians who serenaded us with everything from reels, traditional, country, rock n roll, indie etc...😃😃Will definitely visit again soon!

Ideal location, good sized back garden....which is the main reason we went. Very quiet considering it is located just off of the main country road. However the food wasn't great, my fish was under cooked and my partner's burger was dripping fat all over the plate. After making a comment about the food we were told that they had never received complaints before and that there was nothing wrong with the burger. We received £5 off the bill (half the price of my fish and chips) as compensation. I didn't eat my fish at all. Very disappointed

Used to come here when I lived in Yalding - always good food and a big selection of specials. I think it has changed management since I was last here, then again that was probably about 15 years ago!!Today was a quick visit for lunch in the beer garden with our two dogs. The ham egg and chips was great and my wife enjoyed her ploughmans.Next time I want to see if the sandwiches are how I remember them with thick chunky doorstep bread slices and an lots of filling.

Pro's: Garden, setting and waiting staff were all lovely. Set out was good, no noise from main road and enough car parking for the size of the establishment.Con's: We had the fish and chips, and burger and chips. First of all the chips were good. However, the fish batter was soggy, underdone, not golden and bland. There was definitely no seasoning. The burger was oily, so oily that it dripped over everything and made the bun soggy on the bottom. We respectfully and quietly made these comments to whom we believe is the manager, who didn't apologise and just made excuses, and then to just take a fiver off the bill.We won't be returning for food in any hurry. If we are dehydrating and passing through, then maybe a drink 🤦🏻

Very friendly staff. Good value food - we had lovely roast dinner. Would have been 5* but for fact I was told beef would be rare and it was medium to well done. Still delicious though. Dogs welcome.
