We were welcomed by Emma who wished me a Happy Birthday which was very nice. She explained how to get our carvery meal where the drinks machine was and laid the table. Lovely service, great meal, really good value. Would highly recommend. Very warm, friendly service provided by Emma will definitely be back soon.

The food and atmosphere were superb.. Couldn't fault the range on offer. The meat was superb and everything was so fresh and piping hot. Exactly what you expect from a big name like Toby! But didn't go all to plan.. As a visit to the toilets was to be the failing of this establishment.. The toilets were absolutely disgusting... So bad that I'm glad I have a string stomach as I was absolutely stopped in my track at the state of the toilets.. And my wife and daughter used the female toilets and thought the same... Such a shame as the rest of the building was superb... And this part ruined the evening.. I'm affaid it will take alot for us to visit again.

I had a roast it was lovely only little bit of a criticism is the serving utensils was extremely too hot to handle i used several napkins wrapped round the handles serve my veggies. This could be a issue and some one can easily burn themselves. The staff was extremely helpful and polite. Would i go back again definitely xxx

I have visited Toby in a lot of places and although I’ve visited here before this has to be the worst! I’m so sorry! The young girl carving meat was inexperienced and was offering dry pork! You have videos on how to cook meat but this girl had to ask if she could bring a new but out! Then gave 1 slice of pork and 1 of beef! Which is a child plate! The heat was so hot the plastic spoons were to hot to handle so was unable to get even peas on my plate! My son loves the Mac and cheese but was so hard and crispy even I was put off! It was actually so poor that I felt embarrassed to complain!!! The drinks staff were so slow and unaware that we were upset and the hostess telling me that it didn’t matter if I’d cleaned under my table was not appreciated, as we had a baby in a high chair was irrelevant as it’s down to cleaners! I don’t think I’d ever return again! Vile.I must add that when seated we had only knifes no folks and no waitress so helped ourselves! Plus on the experience is that they was so unaware we were there I paid for 2 adults and 2 kids when there was 3 adults and 3 children!!! Couldn’t pay by app! Apparently it don’t work there! And not 1 person came to table! Had to go to bar to pay! What a delightful place!

Lewis our waiter made us feel welcome and he was very polite. Gave us time to decide on what we wanted and when we were unsure on something answered our questions. Lewis served us with a smile that made us very happy. Excellent service. Food is superb! Pudding even better. My eyes were bigger than my tummy I think.

Awful service!!Ordered a takeaway delivery service for 3 meals.Only 2 meals arrived. On calling the restaurant I spoke to the duty manager Ella.I cannot believe how rude she was.It was not her problem! As far as she was concerned it must have been stolen by the driver as it had been prepared and sent out. The bag arrived sealed!!I asked if we could order another meal and her reply was "no, we have no meat left"Really!! I'm ordering at 5.45pm not 10.15pm.One less family returning to your establishment.

Visited for Sunday dinner, booked a table and we were seen quickly which was a great start. The food was hot and fresh, unfortunately when I went to plate up the Yorkshires had just ran out - not the end of the world whatsoever, I was in catering/hospitality for 7 years so it is completely understandable. Food wise, very good experience.Service wise - absolutely shocking. The chefs behind the carvery line spoke to each other like they did not want to be there.. Very unprofessional in front of customers. Table was clean but with dirty cutlery. Service was slow and our waitress Carol did not ask the simple questions - no greeting, no asking what we were eating and just left very quickly. At the end of the meal I had to ask twice for our bill as we had to wait half and hour for it!There was one young gentleman behind the bar who acknowledged me immediately when I needed assistance, and who did not hesitate to help - I never got a name but thankyou to him.I have been a mystery guest in the past, unfortunately (or rather fortunately for the site), I am no longer.Stay for the food, but don't expect service. A huge disappointment from an establishment with potential.

Having been to the Toby Carvery in Ormskirk the week before last, we thought we would try one closer. The service and staff where great and the venue was nice. The Carvery however was very disappointing. 2 small wafer thin strips of meat, and the veg selection was very poor, dry shredded leak, plain cauliflower, no mac cheese (or any cheese sauce) dry crumbly stuffing. The roast potatoes were tasteless. A gravy would have saved it but both the beef and the special tony gravy were bland. Just a shame our second experience of a Toby wasn’t similar to the first.
