Who'd A Thought It in Maidstone

We visited this restaurant last year, and that is why we went back. However, our visit on Easter Saturday was very disappointing and not worth the high price we paid. One particular member of staff we felt was very miserable, too. We will definitely not be going back!!

Nice enough king of place, sadly just not my cup of tea. I suppose if you want the champagne and oysters kind of thing, then you might appreciate this more than I did. The food is fine, but not superb given the prices. The decor is a little too blingy for a country hotel/restaurant, IMHO, but clean nonetheless. If you are out that way I'd heartily recommend The West House - far more expensive for their set menu, but worth every mouthful. Saying that one of our party said the chocolate fudge cake was one of the best they tasted - it should at £9!

This is my second visit, Had a lovely stay in the ace of spades room, really clean and peaceful. Hot tub was great, bed was so comfortable breakfast was really nice will definitely be coming back again.

I expect most of the good views are mainly based on the food. We had the roast and it was really nice. Staff were nice too but you could tell they didn’t want to be there and probably get payed next to nothing for working there. I would never stay here again it’s not what I expected our room was so dirty which we originally booked for £300 I expected a LOT more. The bed wasn’t made, cobwebs everywhere, furniture was damaged etc..could do with a massive update. The second room we were moved to with no fuss from the staff i was satisfied with for the same money there was a HUGE difference in the two (the Versace suite). I just expected more for this place I thought it would be fancy, I suggest you employ some more experienced cleaners or pay the young girls that do the job a bit more and train them because the standards of simple things like a bed not being made, I’ve honestly had better first impressions in a travel lodge. Overall though was an ok experience but room are not what they look like online. I had a look through some of the other vacant room windows and they all look the same standard. Not worth these prices management!

Amazing place and amazing staff. Everyone was so welcoming, the food was amazing and we loved the room. Would highly recommend and go again. Really enjoyed our stay.

Fantastic place. I have visited restaurant and stayed over couple times. I can definitely recommend. Great service, however rooms would need few things to fix up.

Used to absolutely love this place but unfortunately my 3rd stay was not a pleasant one. I made a payment for a room and transferred them £400 from a friends card as i had not long had fraud committed on me, they was more than happy to take my money and i asked if they could pop me an email confirming the payment had been received. I ended up phoning ever day for 21 days to try and get this confirmed and was constantly given excuses as to why they couldnt send a quick email. I had asked for the manager to give me a call for this period to and was told he was busy and would call me back and i never heard anything! I was then told on day 21 of calling that he had not been in which was also a lie! After finally getting a simple email to confirm my payment (no phone call from manager and no apology from anyone) we went to stay in the vegas suite. It was a beautiful looking room with a lovely outdoor area so we was very excited! Unfortunately when you looked properly it was not clean! Hair in bath and stained bed sheets and just overall not clean! The two beds they have made in to one is not comfortable in the slightest and we was woken nearly every hour from 4am from wildlife running around on the roof! It was so bad the people staying next door to us requested to be moved and we actually left early. Overall the whole experience was not what i had known it to be in the past and i would not be paying £495 for one night stay when the staff are as rude and unhelpful as they are and we had absolutely no sleep and not for the reasons i would of hoped!

I'm a local and the food served here is by far the best in Glastonbury. It's quite peaceful here to so great If you want to chat and hear each other easily. Plus there's a nice garden to enjoy the sun.

My husband and I just went here for dinner for my birthday and all I can say is… wow. What a fantastic experience. The decor, the staff and especially the food were all absolutely fantastic! I can’t wait to go back.

Room & food was excellentStaff were polite friendly & welcoming.Everything was thought of….all the finishing touches to make stay extra great.The bar was on the small side but prices were reasonable. Will defiantly go back in the summer time to enjoy the outside area of the bar.
