Establishment has closed down. Travelled 50 miles with family to Rochester for an afternoon out. We agreed we would eat at Tast of Two Cities as we have had good experiences here before. Checked Google and Web site before we set off, stated opens at 18.00, nothing about closure. Arrived to find venue shut down, tables stripped, frontage filthy with mail piled up in entrance. Would have been really helpful if something had been stated on Web site or Google.

Cheap, but even then don't waste your money here. I went with my parents and all the dishes we ordered were very sweet and otherwise bland. One dish had a little more spice than the others, but it was such uninspiring food none of us finished. The coconut rice was incredibly sweet, too and the paratha was thick and stiff and just not what it should be. The staff were friendly enough, but to be honest that doesn't matter with food this disappointing. Sorry, but I cannot recommend this restaurant. Many of the others nearby look so much better! I wish we had gone to one of them.

Well after all of the negative reviews we were actually dreading going. The staff were really friendly and the food was delicious. We eat out or takeaways all indian once a week. The food and service we had was fine. The restaurant was very busy. Couldn't fault it.

I would never return, they were not ready for us when we arrived (which does happen) we asked to get a drink from the bar to stay out of the way whilst waiting for out table, the waiter was very unhappy with this and kept very loudly telling us to sit at a table and wait. He was extremely rude and it was very embarrassing as other customers could hear him. Our table was booked for 19:30 at 21:00 we finally got our starters! Whilst the food was ok, the service was disgusting, not recommended for a relaxing evening out.

My wife and I visit Rochester on a regular basis and probably visit this restaurant in the High street about 3 times a year. We have always had a really tasty, good value meal served piping hot and freshly cooked. We have never had a negative experience.

WORST INDIAN RESTAURANT EVEROrdered a £9 prawn dish and a £12 mixed grill - prawn dish had three pawns, badly cooked in a sauce which was closer to granddad flem than anything edible.Mixed grill was TINY, beef was tougher than an old shoe and the single chicken leg had been cooked the day before. We stopped eating, paid for one drink and three poppadoms (somehow came to £8) and left.Worst Indian restaurant we've ever been to. I'd rather put a hot poker slowly into my eye ball than return.

We enjoyed our impromptu meal here while visiting Maidstone. The food was very well prepared and tasty although the menu was fairly standard. There were some house specials that introduced a welcome to the usual fare. Service was good. The venue is looking a little tired and would benefit from a refurbishment.

Deserves 4.5 out of 5. Very good place to eat at on Rochester High Street. Though not large, it is cosy, and has very friendly and helpful staff. I did appreciate the offer on vegetarian choice. Good wine at reasonable price. An overall excellent experience. Will definitely go back there.

The food was very tasty and there were some items on the menu that were not just the usual Indian restaurant fare. Kudos to the chef for giving us the opportunity to try something new to us.Service left something to be desired especially at the end. When I tried to pay using Google Pay, the person refused insisting that it was limited to £30. I reassured him it was not and asked him to try. He refused. There us a need for staff training on the use of payment methods.

Liked the look of the menu, but was apprehensive because of the smell and lack of atmosphere. Tried anyway and only ordered starters. Waiter was very rude and abrasive; we ordered sides as a starter which annoyed him. We also didn't order a drink which again annoyed him. Then after poorly cooked fish cutlet which smelt and tasted almost raw and the rest of the staters were oily leftovers well over cooked with little flavour, his reaction to us not ordering mains was to say we didn't follow the 'policy' and order mains, despite how bad the starters were he insisted we order more. We got the bill while he told us how 'no Indian restaurant would allow us to only have starters'. No wonder the place was almost completely empty. Good menu, terribly executed.
