Improving greatly with attentive staff and better quality menu. Well done!

We loved the Hotel! The Cathedral is right across the street and the castle is only 5 minutes walking distance! The most hygienic toilet roll despensers! Everything was spacious and very clean! I felt as if I was staying in a small stately home every time I went past old paintings and framed tapestries! The owners, May and her husband had to struggle a lot to keep the hotel running during the lockdown! Their own business, the nextdoor Gordon Fish and Chip shop has a good demand when people going home after a night out! Only negative point is the noise from the High Street came up from the Rochester Castle Festival goers!

Big rooms, good breakfasts. Friendly staff. On the High Steet so a bit noisy if you are a light sleeper.

Doesn’t matter how many reviews they write for themselves. You know how to find the genuine customers opinions don’t youSo here goes, booked a nice room on a low floor but they got the dates wrong and there was no room for us.We accepted a cheaper room not so comfortable but nice soft furnishings and nice and clean.Trouble is one bed was not fit for purpose springs gone. Husband woke with a bad back.Next morning no hot water, and could not be fixed immediately. We were happy to give them a chance. They phoned us and offered to change rooms ( we had not asked for that but happily agreed to pay for upgrade.)On return owner set about us saying if we did not like the new room we could go elsewhere and how they had reduced the price and bent over backwards for us.Rude . Ended up walking out and going home.Don’t think I was unreasonable to expect comfortable beds and hot showers !By the way there is no food available no breakfast just special K and milk in the room, they did not offer that information when booking.Any recent reviews that mention good food are blatant lies.

Lovely hotel on the High Street of picturesque Rochester. Superb room with a 4-poster bed and attractive Victorian green-tiled semi-circular fireplace. Very comfortable. Attentive staff.

Very clean, lovely room, comfortable bed, freindly chap welcomed me on arrival made check in easy, would recommend for anyone staying in the area, very close to train station. Breakfast in room has a good choice, tea coffee making facilities, safe, ironing board and iron, fan for hot weather, plenty of room for clothes when unpacked. Definitely will be staying again

Honestly the best experience for a night out! Located smack dab in the middle of the high street and staff where amazing and made us feel welcome. The decor has loads of mirrors so perfect for selfies and looks really beautiful. Comfy beds and clean room with a massive shower for a great price. Couldn't fault it at all!

A bit tired in the Hotels appearance, but well looked after by a lovely couple from Malaysia/India. They were really welcoming and were wonderful to talk to. The cook made a very good English Breakfast:)

·

Very friendly staff, great location within ambling distance of cathedral, castle and one of the biggest second hand bookshops in England. Plus it has a free car park immediately behind. Breakfast great and sets you up for the day. Only slight downside (for some) is that the decor is rather tired. If you don't have that down as an essential feature then there's not a problem.

I was visiting with my GranSon. Welcome was great, staff friendly, breakfast was yummy. There was a good selection of continental and cooked options. Only thing that did was abit of a effort was where our room was - up 3 flights of stairs with a 22month old but we managed it. He had a great time sliding up n down the stair case n counting as he went along. I was also abit taken aback when I was charged £15 a night for his cot. I was there for 2 nights and charged an extra £30 which I did not think was fair. Also no high chair at dinner times even though one appeared at breakfast times....
