Jack's Fish Bar in Medway

Wouldn't give any stars if I had a choice, online says open , answerphone says leave a message, 1st time I've ordered this way only to find once order placed £28. and PAYMENT TAKEN, message from fish bar saying closed and money will be refunded in 3-5 days. GREAT!!.

Had this last night with the family and didn't rate it at all cod was yellow and dry and smelt like it was on the turn same as whatever the meat the sausage was as it was definitely not pork it had weird color smell and texture.. all had bad tummys today only thing I rate is the gravy and I made that myself ! Won't be returning in a hurry!

Food was nearly a hour late and didn't answer the phone when i called, when it finally arrived it was stone cold and tasted shabby.Worst fish and chips iv ever eaten.(never again)

Fully appreciate businesses are providing a service in very trying times. However feel that service provided tonight fell below reasonable standard. When order was placed said would be 45 min deliver yet took an hour forty five. Then quality of meal was poor with all dishes overcooked. Businesses should not let their standards fall especially when people possible are having greater expectations. Just reflects of someone trying to make as much money as possible as opposed to providing quality service.

We regularly use this chippie. It's our preferred one in rainham. We've never had a bad fish from here. Most of the time it is fresh from the fryer. Chips are usually spot on too. We've had there chicken kebab and really enjoyed it but can't comment on the pies. They don't take card in the store but this is only a pain because I like collecting fish and chips - it never travels well!

Ordered chicken & doner kebab with chips, £17.40 ordered online no where mentions the option to add sauce or choose what salad you would like. Arrived quite quickly however very dry burnt chicken, not good quality chicken cheap and nasty, some salad on it - soggy lettuce. Didnt eat much as the dry burnt chicken taste was horrible. Waste of money, I should of guessed it would be no good, a fish shop with kebab and burgers on its menu, Jack of all trades master of none!!!

I believe that you can always tell a liiitle something about such establishments that do things such as: water-down the condiments- I mean, just HOW much more money in your coffers are you getting for yourself by doing so if it means you alienate your local clientele into leaving negative feedback? - and what I deduce is that: a) They aren't really purveyors of good fish&chips b) They don't really know what they're doing c) They probably purely saw a chippy as an easy moneyspinner and didn't learn the business first. This chippy is being 'penny smart' but 'pound foolish' because whereas I won't be returning because of my awful, craggy, non-meat, £1.50 battered sausage, if they had sold decent sausages and unwatered vinegar, I'd've happily kept returning to spend money.

Late delivery, hard and greasy chips, greasy cod which contained 6, inch long bones and greasy plaice. Most of the meal went in the bin. Would absolutely tell anybody thinking of ordering from here to not bother. We just moved here hoping for a nice local fish and chip shop and was utterly disgusted with the result. Seriously, if you want fish and chips.. find another shop which actually gives you a decent product. I cannot stress enough how disgusting this chip shop is! AVOID.

A great fish and chip shop. Lovely food and customer sevice. The food is always fresh in front of the eye and alwaya fill the hole in my stomach. Delivery is also grateful to for fast and delightful food. All the other bad reviews are people who just order the food but didn't like it and now finding ways to blame the shop and the food but really the truth is the shop is great and I would recommend to anyone who want to go there.

Please please don't go to this fish and chip shop. We went in and ask for two cod and one chips.The lady that was serving was very nice. But looking into the kichen was a man sitting on the work top drinking beer kichen was not clean looking. We was told that the food would be 15 mins and thought that was good as it would be cooked fresh. This was then change to got one just ready for you.The fish wes not fresh it was dry and not cod! And chips was old and dark not fresh.wast of money. Please don't go there.I hope this helps you and I hope the owner sees this so he will spend some money on sorting there business out and delving a good product
