This pub has really turned a recent corner since Leon the Spooky Bar- Weasel Manager went missing in legal action. Good beer, snacks and food. Warm and nice surroundings. Community feel to it as well. Excellent.

Splendid pub with helpful smiling team looking after you. Cannot be faulted after it’s recent refit and the beers are served in first class condition.

A fine and unexpected retreat that offers an old world atmosphere and a melancholic feeling of all the homely pubs you've had the good fortune to visit.Impeccable selection of drinks served by the pub manager Adam whom is the reason for which I return very regularly! His conversational acumen, professional welcoming approach, and clear robust experience is rare to the point of seldom crossed.Could not recommended enough!

So wonderful that the pub back in the owners hands and fully restored to its former historic self . The staff are wonderful and welcoming , the chef cooks great food especially the home made pies and the special - moules frites - better than any top restaurant . Value for money the food is great . The real ale selection is back to excellent . Highly recommend for a pleasant lunch or evening in a friendly local .

Lovely to see the KG5 refurbished to its former glory and with the original landlord, John Brice, safely back at the helm. This pub defies description. It's like an old friend who's always there through the years. A cosy wood-panelled pub with a piano and warm family feel particularly welcoming in winter - it's not like any other pub in Medway. It feels like it should be in a Devon coastal village. A place you can take your girlfriend or granny for a relaxed drink or meal. Decent range of ever-changing real ales, wines and spirits. Have been here many times over the years and would recommended to anyone 👍

Back to the good old days. Went for sunday lunch with friends. Paid £10 a lunch and it was worth every penny. I have already booked again. Friendly new staff and a top chef..

This is everything that you want in the local boozer - unpretentious, well priced, welcoming and easy going. Lots of Royal Navy history all over the bar linking to Chatham’s Royal Dock past. Utterly lacking in airs and graces - because it’s not trying to be anything other than a local pub.

This is s true gem of a pub have used it off and on for 40 years, the beers and surroundings are now the best ever well worth a visit.
