We feel the need to write a review because we held our Christening party here, with approximately 70+ guests, and the staff could not have done anymore to make it a perfect day. We were allowed to reserve the whole rear of the pub to have our own, dedicated space, especially as we had a band playing for our guests too, and it made our party better having an allocated area. Especially because we had some elderly relatives that needed seating, it made them comfortable the whole day. We had a large balloon display to be set up and management allowed our friend to set up the balloons in the morning before the day got too hot (hottest weekend of the year!), and the band were allowed in before our party got to the pub so they could set up their equipment too. Management were really helpful with anything we asked of them.Food; the pub had a BBQ running the whole afternoon and evening, for the most part it was Michelle working on the BBQ and serving everyone, she went far above and beyond to make sure everyone ate and enjoyed the food. Nothing was too much to ask and all of our guests said she was absolutely phenomenal all day. Another special thanks goes to Ellis who was also on hand all day and likewise with Michelle, nothing was too much. He helped throughout the whole day with anything we needed. The food was fantastic, not a single person in our group complained about it, they only gave compliments so that speaks volumes for Michelle and Ellis!Bar; before the day itself we asked management to make sure there was an extra staff member or two working the bar because of the high number of guests we knew were coming, and were informed there would be a minimum of an extra staff member at least to accommodate the party. Nobody waited to be served all day, staff were brilliant, drinks were served quickly, as you can imagine everyone was happy about getting drinks quickly on what was a very hot day.Lastly, the air con in the Cricks is the best in the area so if you need a venue for an event, its the perfect pub for it. Last weekend was the hottest of the year so far yet the air con made it comfortable inside.Overall a fantastic day was had by all of our guests, we will definitely use the Cricks for future events!

So visited here recently and have to say it was a little bit of a let down. First we booked a table for dinner for 7 people, the booking was taken without issue, we turned up starving and after ordering drinks sat with the rest of the party at the table, we all ordered via the app and here's where the problems start loads of items not available and then when we all managed to find dishes that were available we ordered paid for it all only to be told that nothing we had ordered was available due to a delivery issue. had we been told at the first phone call we would have gone elsewhere straight away.

It was a warm evening so we sat out the front of the pub but had to move away from the speaker as it was too loud, but being on a main, road the noise from motorbikes etc kept interrupting our conversation. We should have gone in the back garden as it would have been far quieter. Service was quick though.

Cracking place. Looking forward to the new cider pumps being installed. Even more choice! Friendly, good space and decent drinks. Can’t ask for much more.

I last reviewed the Cricketers 3 years ago and it was 4*.Post-covid, and after what looks like a refurb to the outdoor areas me and the family popped in for a drink and snack after some shopping in town. What a negative change!4 drinks all came in dirty/lipstick stained glasses.A few bowls of chips, a sandwich and some halloumi fries all took over an hour. We were told when ordering there was no wait on food. When the food arrived the chips and halloumi were cold and the sandwich was soggy. They had clearly been waiting for a long time. Twice we checked with the bar staff on our food and were told 'its coming'.They need someone running the kitchen<>front of house pass that is efficient and knows what they are doing. The bar staff seemed more interested in chatting with regulars at the bar than serving customers. All in all, a real shame, we won't be going again soon. With Wetherspoons at the bottom of the town I would have thought somewhere like the Cricketers would have upped their game, or at least got the basics right. All these issues were caused by careless staff. The only saving grace is the duty manager part refunded our food order. Hence the 2* for acknowledging there were issues.

Tonight some friends and I decided to have a catch up at Rainham Cricketers. We called in at about 6pm, ordered some drinks at the bar with the friendly staff who made us feel welcome and told us about their Greene King app. We chose to try this out when ordering a selection of small bites, tacos and sliders. We ordered these simply and quickly on the app, and the food arrived promptly, well-presented and of course hot! The pub/restaurant was buy with the quiz, lots of tables all happily involved and eager participants. There was a great atmosphere and the decor is really bright, warm and welcoming. We all agreed that we will definitely be coming back to see Grant and the team next week at the latest!

The staff were friendly and it is a dog friendly place. They did have a few technical difficulties the day we were in. New chef, and then something broke or ran out in the kitchen and they had to close it. We were part of the few lucky ones who did manage to get there food. Over all lovely atmosphere.
