The Riverside Tavern in Medway

My friends and I had a fantastic lunch this week at the Riverside. Fantastic, although the weather was grotty, the managers Sunny personality shone through. Staff great and attentive. Food yummy they were able to provide for my friends special dietary needs. I highly recommend. And will visit more often as very different to the pub I remember yrs ago …… great place 🙏 thank you x

We came for the first time yesterday for Sunday lunch with the family as recommended by a frequent visitor friend!We cannot fault the staff, the food or the service. Everything was excellent and child friendly. The atmosphere was relaxed and everywhere was immaculately clean and tidy.We will definitely be visiting again even if just for a drink. Thank you to you all!

It was a really pleasant place, it is previously known as the Riverside tavern but it has changed to the boat Inn. There was really friendly staff there which were really polite. Definitely as I asked a few different questions they were able to help out!The food was hit, miss and a hit. The appetiser, garlic mushrooms were honestly incredibly tasty and gave me a craving for a second round. The vegan hamburger in my opinion was not tasty, very dry and not so good. However I think with vegan meat dishes is always a hit or miss, in this case it was a miss. The dessert did save it though and I would have a perfect 3 meal dish for £14. I definitely felt I got value for my money and the pints there were not too expensive either.They have a really nice outdoor space and great indoor place as well. There was also designated outdoor speakers and the music they played was top hits or previously top hits which I thought was very nice and trendy. Very nearly set up with even designer candles! Small details like that make a place.

We had a table of 12 dinner booking last night, it was our first time there and we were pleasantly surprised. Our waitress Sheila was amazing, very friendly, efficient & great service. The food was soooo soooo nice, every single starter and main course was delicious. I am very fussy so asked them to make me a halloumi burger which wasn’t on the menu and it was so yummy! Lovely outdoor seating for warmer weather looking over the water and boats. We will definitely be back. Thank you

Went for a meal this evening with partner and a friend . Camembert was perfect and the gammon steak with eggs was just right for a great mid week meal after work. My partner loves the chicken burger, cooked just right and no soggy bun! Polite and courteous staff, great food and drink. Priced well and never a complaint about anything. Sunday roast is superb and mid week food is just as good. Highly recommend. Help support your local business and Save yourself cooking and go have your Sunday roast at the boat house !

We called in yesterday, without booking, and can honestly say the whole experience was EXCEPTIONAL. From the moment you enter the staff are so friendly and helpful. The food was lovely and served very quickly. The whole meal was such good value for money and everywhere is so nice, clean and welcoming. There is no doubt this delightful place is well worth visiting, you can sit by the waterside and look at the castle in the distance. Thank you LUKE, Sheila and the team!

Really a surprisingly fantastic evening!! The restaurant looks like a pub from the outside, and the photos don't do it justice, but everything inside was a total surprise. The service was outstanding, professional, polite and fun too!! Really a big thank you to our server who catered to our requests of a quieter place for one of our parties hearing issues.The food was delicious. So many options! Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free were all amazingly supported here! Thank you to the kitchen team!And the overall atmosphere and look of the place was really pretty. Will be a delightful spot in the summer too, overlooking the river, Castle and cathedral with a very pretty garden area.Would 100% recommend and we wll be returning soon!!

Had the Sunday carvery and everything was quite nice! The building is newly refurbished, brightly lit, great views of the Medway river — the building is right on the water. It's nice and quiet because it's a bit out of the way. Ample parking. Would probably give it a 4-star (could use a bigger beer selection / cask ales) but the staff were very friendly. Management should be commended for a focus on staff diversity and inclusion. Everyone we spoke with was courteous, polite and really seemed to enjoy working there. Bravo.

Such a perfect hidden gem!Took two friends and a baby here was easy to book, the set up they have is welcoming and elegant, the staff are as friendly and accommodating as can be.The food overall was amazing and for the price we paid was such good value, the star of the show was the garlic mushroom starter that I will be going back for many times because it seems to have changed my life. The most beautiful garlic cheese sauce.12/10!

Amazing place! Went with the family for early evening dinner and this is now our new family favourite. Food was amazing, husband loved the veggie burger despite being an avid meat eater. Our fussy eater son loved his children's burger and the whole kids menu was very impressive with a vegan burger and a children's korma curry. Side salad was fresh and tasty rather than a soggy after thought. My daughter really enjoyed her chicken burger and my pork belly was delicious. We had a trio of deserts, which was beautiful and the kids menu included a desert for our son. The view was gorgeous sitting outside overlooking the castle and cathedral across the water and you get a good view of the old Russian sub. We will definitely be back. Only a very short distance from our usual stomping ground of Rochester High Street. Oh and the staff were all very friendly and helpful.
