Afternoon Tea at the Alexander House in Mid Sussex

Really enjoyable afternoon spent having tea in lovely surroundings.

The best afternoon tea of all. Staff were very attentive, friendly. So relaxing. Will be going back very soon.

What an amazing stay we had!Thank you to Adam, shophie, Tom, Soma, Charlotte and Chef Darrell and his team of amazing chefs.Customer service is 100% all day long at the beautiful Alexander house hotel.Our large room was spotlessly clean, cosy and warm. The concierge service is extremely helpful and always finding ways to accommodate your needs.We had dinner at the reflections restaurant on-site which catered for all our dietary needs and the food was delicious. Soma was our waiter and he was outstanding when talking us through the menu and recommendations he moved our seating to a more romantic settings.Beautiful service we will be staying again can't wait ❤️ Thanks Alexander house hotel.

Wonderful service & delicious food. Would definitely recommend as a special treat. Even doggy bags for leftovers.

We visited for Afternoon Tea today. Lovely place, very clean and the food was delicious . The young man who served us was so polite and very helpful indeed. Would definitely visit again. Thank you for a lovely experience .

Lovely setting for a tranquil afternoon tea. Our favourite of all the treats was the passion fruit panna cotta which was very creamy, light and tangy

Excellent room with lounge style seating and some tables with higher chairs, good ambiance and attentive staff. Good variety of different teas and good quality afternoon tea fare.

Just had afternoon tea at Alexander house Hotel. The scones and cakes were perfect. A little bit short on the traditional sandwiches , instead a couple of pastry and pizza items. I had a lovely glass of reasonable champagne with the tea, however as the tea was served at same time it got cold before I could drink it. The room let the whole experience down as it had no outside view just a large gas fire which in early September was far too hot. You could roast chestnuts on my poor cheeks at the end. Service was very good. The biggest disappointment was however the car parking. If you are just having afternoon tea you cannot park at the hotel. We were told to park next door in the very large spa which has very small parking spaces, and walk through to the hotel. My partner and I have a classic car which we take out now and again. I never park in the normal spaces. So if you have something which you treasure to park, then leave it at home. This is not the place to come on a day out with the treasured vehicle. All they said was sorry but we do have cameras. The car park is just for residents at hotel. Incidentally the car park was nearly empty. Thanks for that. Not helpful doorman, who doesn't understand about matching up paint on chipped door problems.

Afternoon tea was delicious and they accommodated our requests. Our waitress was brilliant! However... a service charge is added to the bill and only 1% (yes one percent) goes to staff for them to split between them. I consider this to be fraud and it has put me off ever going back there. If I do return I will not be paying the service charge with the bill. The lower star rating reflects that this affected how we felt about our afternoon.

Very lovely 2 days spent with parents here. Meals and drink are experience and not necessarily worth it. Rooms are very nice and the grounds are very lovely. Would recommend this to people as its has a nice relaxing atmosphere. Family friendly but catering to couples mainly.
