Fantastic little Bakery, great goods with friendly staff. Top notch breads, especially their Sourdoughs. Croissants are top notch, with a good selection.Great coffee too.

I only use Bake Out for picking up a snack. For which it suits brilliantly.

Nice food and bread choice early in day but sells out quickly of the top range of breads but bacon baps and sausage baps excellent.

Wasn't overly impressed with the food. The pizza slice was really really dry. Expensive for what it is.

A few weeks ago, I visited Bake Out in Hassocks to buy a loaf. I was shocked to see the assistant pick up the loaf with his bare hands. On previous visits, the member of staff has used a piece of ‘cellophane’ to pick up the loaf. I told him that this was unhygienic as he was going to next handle my money. He said that the staff sanitise their hands regularly! I said that I was not prepared to buy a loaf handled in this way. Another member of staff asked me what the problem was, but did not offer an apology or seem to think this was an issue. I left the shop and saw them put the loaf back on the shelf for sale.I have recently visited Lewes and noticed that in that branch of Bake Out, all the loaves are in paper bags on the shelf. One wonders why this is not common practice across the chain of shops.In conclusion; Bake Out proudly displays 5* for hygiene in their window. The handling of a loaf by bare hands followed by handling of money IS UNHYGIENIC. I would like some reassurance that this practice will not be repeated before I visit the shop again.

I don't normally write reviews, but bake out deserves one. I came to that area for other business, thought I would pop in and see what was on offer as we were leaving. Let's just say I wish I had known of them before now. The food is of high quality, fresh, delicious, even my 10 year old beg me to go back there. Which wasn't hard (all the items we brought was excellent) even though we live at least 15 mins away by car. And our second visit lived up to the first.(Only reason for a four star is one item was forgotten which I had to travel back to collect, but they sorted it out and one toasty was not cut into two but the other was)Please keep up the good work to all staff members and thank you.

The staff are fab, some even more fab than others, but all fab. Really good coffee, and they'll try to do it to just how you ask if you talk to them really nicely, but it's good as it is. They only drop one star because they never have enough large white farmhouse loaves. And why charge so much for a little one when even Waitrose sell the little one for 80p not £1.20!! Please, please listen to you customers and give feedback to head office.

I use to go to costa before I found this little gem, never again! In bakeout the food is way fresher the cappuccinos are hotter and creamier and less overloaded with caffeine . I also find the current bake out staff the best ever, the ladies are very professional and really care about there business and customers. I have lived in hassocks for 7 years now and this is my favourite place to grab something fast and easy. I spoke to her manager the other day and I found him exceptionally professional and really impressed with this establishment. I think a lot of other businesses could learn a lot from bakeout as they really are good at what they do.The place is very simple but sometimes simple is all you need, somewhere clean, quick and easy just to grab something without all the fuss. I think these guys keep the place looking clean unlike other places, overall a great experience
