Don't come here expecting to grab a quick bite and not book.. ..... The Heritage is a place to relax and savour every mouthful of food whilst being looked after by a really friendly team. The restaurant has a good balance of formal and relaxed....the service is attentive but not starchy and uncomfortable. The food is amazing.... We have lived here a long time and have been thankful that Matt and his team arrived and breathed life back into this previously boarded up building with an extraordinary amount of energy. They haven't excluded villagers from going into the bar and having a drink and we often do . It's good to see an eclectic mix of clientelle all there with a common aim...to enjoy a memorable and special dining experience in the beautiful surroundings of the village. Amused by an earlier rather sour review about twitching curtains in the village we feel compelled to say that the Heritage has brought a rather more considerate visitor that is careful not to block driveways and generally respect the pretty surroundings. We also know getting accidentally stuck up a road that turns into a bridleway can be stressful.....my husband has on occasions reversed the odd car down for a bewildered visitor because it can get a bit tight if there happens to be a wedding at the church. Just leave a little time for the whole dining experience......No one rushes you out of your seat and the table is yours for the evening. It is well worth coming .

Had the heritage menu, few dishes way too salty, few odd (not sure about the celeriac merengue and ice cream), monk fish was nice, steak a bit chewy. Had a nice night even though the food was not really to our liking, a bit of a shock when presented with a bill with a suggested 17.5% service charge which was very presumptuous! Certainly been to better restaurants for fine dining who charged less. Worth going for the experience but sad to say won’t be back

I visited with my family on Mothers Day, what an absolutely amazing place. Firstly i have to mention the greeting from the front of house was brilliant and continued throughout the whole of our visit. The food was outstanding, compliments to the Chef, the Cocktails a different level. We will 100% be booking again. Thanks to you all.

Disappointed. Yes the food is good, but lacks any sort of atmosphere. Front of house staff weren’t very welcoming on arrival. Pre- dinner drinks felt like we were in a pub. Only tasting menu on Saturdays no a la carte. Overall, very expensive and lacks atmosphere. Wouldn’t go back.

Had lunch today with a friend as a joint birthday treat and what a treat! The food is gorgeous, it is well worth having the wine flight as they do so well to match the wine to the food. The staff were warm, welcoming and very knowledgeable. I will definitely be going back, can't wait!

We had a great meal yesterday. We chose the 5 course menu and shared a cheese course. There was more than enough to eat. I had vegetarian and my other half had meat. Everything was incredibly tasty and beautifully presented. From our arrival, to pre meal drinks in a snug area and the dining experience, the staff were attentive and very informative about what we were about to eat as well as appropriate wines.

I thought that this was going to be a gastropub but it’s a notch or two above that. Chose from the three course Sunday lunch menu, rather than the two tasting menus, and everything was excellent. Only two choices per course but all four of us enjoyed the beautifully presented food and good wine selection. All of the staff were extremely knowledgeable, attentive and very friendly. Would definitely recommend and will return.

Enjoyed our lunch and the food was interesting. Relais et Chateau it is not. Pubs that try to go too upmarket create their own precipice to exist on. The decor is, how should one put this, contentious in part. The garden outside has a pleasant view, but cannot overcome its landscape limitations. Parking is a nightmare and the village, who are probably fed up with there being a restaurant, is full of twitchers guarding their fiefdoms even if that happens to be a public road. Loved the bespoke cutlery holder. Great idea.

Fabulous. Staff wonderful and very knowledgeable about each dish. The wine flight is a must as is the signature Heritage cocktail. Wines beautifully paired with each course. Congratulations to Matt, Hannah and the team at Heritage.

Wonderful lunch. Lots of interesting surprises along the way. Very happy to look after my wife’s gluten free needs, and we were well attended, and advised in all aspects of the experience. Each dish is presented beautifully with a little description. More than just a lunch, it was an adventure!
