My husband and I are so pleased that No. 1 Broad Street has re-opened with such a great chef and menu offering. We went for Saturday lunch and experienced the most wonderfully presented and delicious food in a relaxed and contemporary setting. The Italian rose wine we chose was fabulous and the service excellent. We’re delighted the restaurant offers an a la carte menu as so many other fine dining restaurants in the vicinity prefer to impose a fixed ‘tasting menu’ on you. We were regular guests of the now closed Jeremy’s restaurant at Borde Hill. No. 1 Broad Street has most certainly filled the gap left by Jeremy’s. So much so we’re about to return just a couple of weeks later for dinner. Most definitely very highly recommended.

Really wonderful food, we thoroughly enjoyed the meal.

This was our first visit to No. 1 and it won't be our last! We started with the a la carte menu but after the first mouthful of our starters we asked if we could change to the tasting menu. Johnny was very accommodating and really went the extra mile for us.The menu isn't fussy and what you get is wonderful seasonal flavours beautifully presented.Top field Johnny, top field.

This restaurant has many things right: it is beautifully decorated and laid out; the staff were very welcoming and the small menu meant great, fresh ingredients. The food we ate was tasty however the portion size was tiny. There were no carbohydrates (apart from the bread we were given at the start) and very little vegetables. No matter how slowly we ate, we had finished our two course meal in just over an hour despite sitting for quite a while with a glass of wine. Sadly, we left very hungry after a pretty pricey evening,What a shame. We wanted to support a local restaurant.

We enjoyed a wonderful six course tasting menu with a nice bottle of red wine. It was a warmish summer evening so we had our meal in the outside portion on the restaurant. Everything was perfect, tasty and fresh. Service was casual and we lacked for nothing. Dishes were served warm or cold as appropriate. We are already planning our next visit!

Celebrated our 4 years together here and wouldn't regret our booking. The service along with the food and ambience was top notch and great introduction to our first vegetarian tasting menu in the UK. Each course was completely different, with a fine dining take on simple ingredients. We highly recommend this for a special occasion or a treat. From other partnerd perspective:Spent our four years at a spa hotel nearby and stumbled across this place when googling lunch options. An absolutely fantastic experience, with sublimely crafted plates of food, excellent friendly service and even provided us a tasting menu for lunch upon request which they usually do not offer. Somewhere I expect will be on the rise and considering it has only been open 7 months, I would go there before it gets booked up (and you miss out on such a lovely experience)

We visited and had the wonderful tasting menu. Fantastic service and lovely staff (even though I set the menu on fire - accidentally of course). We enjoyed it so much that we booked visit again on New Years Eve. You really must give this restaurant a try. 5 stars.

We had a private room for a 50th birthday. The room was elegant and the staff was very friendly and attentive. However the portions are on the small side which makes it an expensive night out. I cannot fault the quality of the food which was delicious.

Disappointing and pricey. Very small portions. No option to add vegetables or side salad to main course. Very little veg evident on plate. Starter described as Chicken Leg with Mushroom Ketchup, however it was a chicken terrine with 2 or 3 tiny pickled mushrooms and no mushroom ketchup to be seen. I chose the cheese course to finish but was very disappointed to find the tiniest piece of cheese imaginable alongside a small, but pleasant, bite sized onion tartlet and some chutney. The other problem was that I was given a spoon and fork to eat it with! No knife!!Food tasted good and the wine tasted great, but nothing made me say Wow.
