The Fox Eating and Drinking House in Mid Sussex

Unbeleivable food and it was matched with the most comforting service I've ever experienced.I had the venison and I was informed that deer stalker was sitting the other side of the bar to me; its real local, quality produce. The food was fresh and made with passion. The chef catered for my Vegan Girlfriend and made a "Vegan Surprise" which she described as one of the best meals she's ever had.We're definitely coming back

We popped for a quick bite just about lunchtime and we're greeted by a very jovial chef and friendly staff. We had a drink and two of their delicious sausage rolls each which were the best I have ever tasted. Beautiful thin crusty pastry will huge filling of juicy pork and herbs. Outstanding food and the menu,s looked very appetising pity we couldn't stay longer . Also great beer selection and really cosy and welcoming establishment. Would definitely return and also recommend to all my friends.

Wonderful fish & chips, toffee sticky pudding with homemade ice cream, great beer & KIND service. Such a refreshing experience in West Hoathly m, Sussex England.Be ready to relax & enjoy the English countryside!

Had a lovely evening at the Fox. Booked a table to dine alone, was made to feel very welcome. The staff are lovely and friendly and the food was divine. Highly recommend.

Friday lunch time meal. I had the venison and it was beautifully cooked. So tender and the sauce which accompanied it very tasty. Highly recommended. Only complaint was that I should have had red wine. Mea culpa!

I had a hunch to stop for lunch at The Fox in West Hoathly.I chose the Venison Haunch, beautifully cooked, placed on Rosti which was crisp round the edges, soft on the inside, accompanied by fresh firm green beans with a wonderful gravy.Just as good if not better than many a top restaurant.Highly recommended.

Lovely little country side pub with an excellent range of meals. A perfect place for a relaxed Sunday lunch or after a hike.Note: they request that boots are removed at the entrance.

Had a family lunch here on Sunday and the mains were, on the whole, very good. The roast beef was very good - I'd definitely go again for it. The plaice was too buttery though, and too expensive at £16.Cool upcycled interior, too.
