Great pub, quick service, decent pint, quality outside seating. Clean and decent. Managers a Liverpool fan but other than that it’s ace! ;)

Polite, helpful staff. Good local pub with decent, affordable food.

Often drop in to the Star for a couple of drinks with friends - great place to catch up over a glass, really chilled, relaxed environment.Good selection of drinks, not eaten in here for a long while though but will do soon as the plates that passed me by yesterday on the way out of the kitchen looked tempting! What really makes this place is the friendly, attentive service from the bar staff, in particular the server with the cropped hair who recently came back from Amsterdam (I'm sorry I always forget to get your name!) who us always really chatty and welcoming. Thanks again, I will continue to return 🥂

Pub is a cheap cheerful place, friendly staff and to be fair who can go wrong with a steak sandwich, chips and a gin&tonic to wash it down!I will say that the heaters outside were welcomed to warm my old bones however I'd suggest taking your own cushion for the benches outside as a numb bum was interesting when standing up 3 gins in

With the Tap and Lockhart within walking distance, no reason to come here. Nothing particularly bad about it - just your typical downmarket chain boozer - but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone with such better options nearby.

Lounch menu was limited but I had very nice ham & cheese toast and beer, grand garden with street view, nice olace to stop.

Warning!!! This place is actually a bar and not a star so it is safe to go near it. I was worried at first but the experience that comes with this place was completely worth the slight stress. Only criticism is the lighting, kept on flashing but wasn’t too bad so keeping the review at 5 stars. 100% worth the visit! Would recommend!

Really nice pub. Lovely food! I went with friends, but would be equally good for a family dinner. Lady behind the bar remembered our drinks order after only one round, so was literally "same again?" next time. Which doesn't sound like a big deal, but for a first visit it impressed me greatly.

Very friendly and welcoming staff. Green King IPA tasted like a proper bitter. Creamy and smooth. Landlady says it’s because they clean their distribution pipes regularly. Makes sense.

There are better Sunday Roasts nearby though you may have to pay a few quid more for it.
