Husband and I came here for lunch today 24th June when visiting Hassocks; after looking online for a place to eat we settled on the Thatched Inn and we’re glad we did. The staff gave us a warm friendly welcome, the pub is dog friendly but as it was a fine day we sat in the garden. The food was freshly cooked, portions were generous and it was all well presented. One of the nicest pub meals we’ve had in a while and we’ll definitely return when we’re visiting again.

Such a lovely pub outside and in. Food we had was really good and big portions and quick service and steamed veg were great. Definitely go back again. Staff very friendly too and lovely atmosphere

Party of 5 adults and 1 child went for my Mum's birthday. When we booked we were told we had the table for 2 hours, which would be ample time if everything came quickly. Food didn't arrive until just over an hour into our 2 hour slot. It was a good job we didn't order starters. We also noticed all around us were getting their food, even those who came in after us. The whole time we were there we felt very much on the clock. Dessert arrived with 15 minutes to go and we were reminded we only had the table until 2pm. We rushed through dessert and they bought the bill over, we weren't asked if we wanted coffee or teas, just here's your bill and again we were reminded that we needed to leave. It wasn't a nice and relaxing birthday lunch we had expected. Waiting for over an hour into your 2 hour stint for any food isn't great at all. When the food did arrive it was ok. However veal escalope was so overcooked and tough, I would have sent it back but I would never have got it back in time.

I visited The Thatched Inn on Saturday 23 April 2022 in the evening, a weekend during the Easter school holidays. We were staying just down the road at the Southdown Way Camping & Caravan Park. I was with three other people. This was my first visit. I used Google Maps to find the restaurant, which was easy and led me straight to the right place.I parked in the pub car park - parking was easy. The restaurant comprises of one large sized main dining area with plenty of tables with full table service. The team were very friendly and welcoming and I had no issues - we got everything we expected in good time and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.I enjoyed the beefburger with cheese, bacon and onion rings for my main course with a side of cheesy garlic bread and the most amazing baked strawberry and white chocolate cheesecake with whippy ice cream. The food arrived hot, was well presented and tasted really good. There was a good selection of food and I found something that appealed to me easily. The food was very good value for money, I paid just under £30 for three courses and drinks. The portions are incredibly generous and I ate too much!Overall I really enjoyed my visit and would definitely recommend it!

Food was tasty, came quickly, and staff were friendly to us and our dog - bringing her water without needing to be asked. Our view of the entrance/phone booking area suggested that the whole team were well informed on table availability, bookings, confident on meeting and greeting customers and ensuring that everything ran smoothly to give a good customer experience. Well done to them all yesterday.

Really friendly and uber helpful staff, great pub food at reasonable cost.Toilets were very clean and I liked the way there was hand sanitiser just outside (as it was a pull handle to exit the toilets). Little things like this really separate the lesser & best places!I was really surprised by this little place - I think its a hidden gem.Great welcomeGreat foodGreat service
