The WildFlour Cafe in Mid Sussex

Great little hidden gem of a cafe , only on dry days see opening times , great place to start or end a circle walk over the Downs ⭐️

Lovely quaint place to stop for a cuppa and bit of cake. Nice food and lovely staff. Cashless too.

Very often, cafes in rural locations that have a monopoly over the hungry hikers in the area exploit this monopoly with fairly low quality generic food and disinterested staff. The Wildflour Cafe could not be more different! Amazing cakes (we tried the carrot cake and chocolate tiffin but heard rave reviews from others seated near us on other cakes!) and the food (an understandably limited range with maybe 6-8 items available) also looked fab. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the location is amazing- really interesting short exhibition on farm equipment and history near the cafe too!

Superb tasty Salads and interesting Cakes. Open air Cafe tucked between historic farm buildings in a secret location on the South Downs Way.

So good we had to organise our return ride the following day to revisit.Probably the best cafe food I have experienced. Veggie, vegan food at its best - and I'm no vegetarian.Couldn't ask for more!

After a walk over Newtimber Hill, what could be better than stopping for a cup of tea (and homemade cake) at The Wildflour Cafe, Saddlescombe? It may just be a caravan in the old farm's courtyard, but the ladies fill it with flowers and offer a warm welcome. There is a small unisex toilet close by. Parking opposite Saddlescome Farm is limited. Walk there if you can.

Welcome stop if walking the south downs and even if not definitely worth a visit. Great selection of drinks, cakes and home made food.

We didn't plan to come here at first since nothing was clearly signed at the main visitor parking lot up on Devil's dyke. But we were glad we did. The cafe is nested in a corner of an old farm building and has plants in pots everywhere. The food was great und freshly made in the caravan and was more vegetarian.Would recommend going here anytime especially after a sunday walk.
