Wheatsheaf Inn in Mid Sussex

A right little gem, lovely food, great beer, lovely staff. I normally would have booked premier Inn but they tripled their price, so I came here and wow so glad I did, friendly conversation with the lovely locals, my room has a single bed which I haven't slept in since I was a lot younger but is very comfortable and the room is very clean and has all I need for the night. I will be returning here instead of the Premier Inn because of the aforementioned things, it's just better here and more in sync with the local area.

Stayed one night 19th March 2022. Silverfish in bathroom. Shower only dribbles. Breakfast until "11 am" (except it "had been put away" at 10:45 am). Keys appear to open other rooms. No idea how this place has good reviews on here and is listed as a 4-star. Avoid.

Popped in after a local walk for a pint amd a bite of lunch, had a delicious scampi and chips, the nicest scampi ..fat, tasty and lovely crispy chips ..perfect with a great pint of Guinness . Friendly service, will return again for sure 👍😊

The rooms are ok. Small but clean.The noise from the road was terrible and there was a lot of typical old building hotel noise like doors slamming, squeaky floors and stairs and rattling doors through the night.Good food in the pub and one of the waitresses was brilliant and friendly. Unfortunately I heard /saw two other serving staff swearing under their breath and eye rolling about customers.

Fantastic atmosphere and a great traditional pub and restaurant. Highly recommend the mars bar cheesecake. Vicky took care of us from start to finish. Thanks again

Went for breakfast and the staff were amazing. I'm a vegan and despite no vegan option on the breakfast menu, when I asked about 'options',the young lady waitressing couldn't have been more accommodating and helpful to sort a vegan brekkie out 😋👍

Didn’t stay here. But have eaten here a couple of times, the food is good basic pub fare, but have to say it’s excellent. Staff are very friendly. Thoroughly recommended

Very unwelcoming, as we walked in no one acknowledged us and we had to find a waiter to get a table that we had booked. It took 15 minutes for a waiter to take our order once we eventually got a seat and almost an hour to get our food and not even apologizing for the long wait. We were not even asked once if we want something else to drink or even how the food was. Very very bad service and would not recommend this place and we were just a number there to get rid of. Have never experienced this before

Very nice place, room very warm and cozy also very clean and quiet!Had dinner and breakfast and was amazing! The staff was very kind.Also is not too far from haywards heat train station 6 minutes by taxi and 20 minutes walking.Also very nice and quiet park around wich you gona cross to go to station.
