White horse, Hurstpierpoint in Mid Sussex

The food was excellent and the service was great too. We had a lovely Chicken and ham pie, Peri-Peri chicken and mac&cheese. The manager really went out of her way to make us feel welcome and it seemed like the staff enjoy working there. We will be back-had a really enjoyable experience 😊

We visited The Horse in Hurstpierpoint for Sunday Lunch and it was fabulous !The pub itself was warm and inviting with a lovely atmosphere....no wonder it was so busy !We sat in the restaurant area, and a high chair for the little one in our party was brought immediately by one of the friendly waitresses.The food was great...we all had the prawn starter ....with so many prawns it could have been a Main Course......but it wasn't just the size....it tasting lovely.Although we could have ordered off the std menu, we all had the Roast lunch. The meat was tender and there was enough for you to leave with a full tummy......we couldn't fit a dessert in !!!All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon.

Tasty food and tapas, really friendly staff who were very attentive and looked after our table of 6. Even with a couple of noisy (but hopefully polite!) kids we were made to feel welcome.My wife had some issues with one of her dishes which was immediately swapped out for another dish, no questions asked.Local cheeses and local beers, definitely worth a visit.The Quorn burger was really tasty, and a good alternative to a regular meat burger.

Great atmosphere and even greater food. We went for Sunday roast and it was divine! The staff were very kind and friendly too.

Took the family for a slap up meal during a long-overdue visit and this was truly the highlight. The food was DEVINE! I can only imagine how beautiful the Christmas menu will be. Thankyou for a wonderful experience. 6 stars out of 5

Incredible experience, (almost) too much to chose from but tapas selections make for a curated experience. Definitely go for the Salt & Pepper Squid and treacle tart with custard. Unfortunately didn't get photos but get down here for yourself!

Excellent and friendly service. Nice food, especially the dinner. Comfortable room. Nice location.Only downside was the cleanliness. It was obvious the cleaner knew to clean shower, sink, change bed etc and that was done nice. However, there was some things that were outside of these checklist things that were not clean. Blood stain on the toilet bin, toilet brush was not clean and there was dirty glasses left under the bed which had mouldy slices of lime in them.This was a real shame because the overall experience was very positive, let down by one member of staff clearly not doing their job properly.

Amazing experience.Friendly service and wonderful, warm environment.Went for a pint (clean and cold) and some tapas dishes with a couple of friends.Tender steak, perfect garlic prawns, beautiful tempura squid rings.Already looking forward to our next visit for a full meal.

Very cozy homely feel, great food, amazing decor and a huge (heated) outside area with a massive selection of gins and tasty tapas dishes, or if you want pub grub with class and a glass of wine or a pint then you can't go wrong!!You're spoilt for choice, the staff are amazing and very attentive with an keen eye for detail.Bottom line, you won't be disappointed this really is a diamond in the rough as far as Village pubs are concerned.There's also a bed and breakfast service on offer and the rooms are beautiful, you can really tell that a lot of care attention and effort was put into the decorative aspects and the cleanliness!!10/10

A really enjoyable Sunday roast lunch. Child meals are very generously portioned, and the adult meals were great. We had beef which was cooked beautifully, with not a scrap of waste or fat to be found in the meat. Again, the adult meals were very well portioned, so you won't go hungry!If I was to be at all critical it would have been nice to have had more of the very tasty cauliflower cheese! But nothing was too much trouble and we were quickly brought another big of gravy for the table. Nice and friendly service too. Would happily recommend and we look forward to going back.
