A nice clean restaurant, visually pleasing with lots of gap between the tables. The waiter (Dave) was spot on with his service and assisted with a few questions we had.On entering the restaurant at 4.15pm we expected the lunch menu which states its until 5pm.Sadly this was nowhere to be seen and we were given the evening menu. The duck on the evening menu was was not available and apparently hasn't been for 6 months. This needs to be made clearer on the website as people travel just to have duck as its not common in restaurants.Clean modern toilets.

Good food and cocktails but very short staffed which I found out affects the closing time. Wasn't happy on the first visit as we checked on Google that it closed at 11pm and then got there at 9pm and were turned away by Just Josh due to being short staffed. Just Josh was very stressed. The second day went earlier for lunch and was served by a very helpful member of staff. She made us feel very welcome and comfortable! Will visit again and hope to get the same level of service!

Loved the staff. Friendly, relaxed and responsive, they didn't hover but checked on us regularly.Felt like a good atmosphere amongst themselves.Food was absolutely lovely. The meals were a very good portion size and the wedge of lettuce was very interesting.Steaks were cooked specifically to our tastes and the accompaniments were lovely.Starters were lovely and a good range of choices.Range of non alcoholic cocktails was a treat to discover too!We were seated by the bar and the only thing that would put me off sitting here again was the bottle bin, several times throughout dinner there was a loud, disruptive clank as they were added. We would request a table away from here if possible next time.

Overall impression is that M&C is very overpriced for what it is. The service was friendly & the food arrived at a good pace, but they just didn't get the basics right.Starters were great - prawn cocktail small but very tasty, plenty of king prawns, and chipotle chicken was lovely. For mains the 4 of us decided to choose steaks as this is what M&C pride themselves on. Ours were... well they were OK... We ordered two rumps & two fillets which, to be honest, didn't really seem worth the £30+ that we paid for them. The '30-day' aged & '50-day' aged fillets didn't really taste any different, and the rump was OK, but again nothing special. They mixed up our order for two of the steaks & got one of the side dishes wrong. Not clear if this was the server's mistake or the kitchen, but by the time we had discovered it, it was too late to try & get it changed. This is always a dilemma - two of us would have ended up waiting for new steaks to be cooked while the others were already eating. We weren't really convinced by the 'wedge' of lettuce that came with the steaks - it just seemed a bit weird & out of place with the rest of the meal. Desserts were nice, but my dessert - a cocktail & a mini dessert combo - wasn't delivered together - my cocktail arrived after everyone else had finished their desserts so I ended up eating mine after everyone else had finished. Oh and the tap water provided was warm. I'm not sure we'd return - it just seems too expensive for what it is.

Went last minute for an early dinner after some shopping. Service was great and friendly, plus the food was delicious. Generous portions (my eyes were definitely bigger than my belly!) and the wine was really tasty. I can definitely recommend the espresso martinis.

I can not fault anything. The food was impeccable, the service by a chap called Cain was absolutely superb! Who would've thought it was an M&B place!Amazing, and if ever in that neck of the woods again, I will be returning!!

Beautiful food and great staff. It is an expensive night dinning however, for special occasions and celebrations it makes the perfect place to eat

This is what you call a true steak house! Have been to several steak specialty restaurants which turned out to be utter disappointing however Miller and Carter never fail to disappoint. The steak and the sauces and sides - always absolutely perfect in taste, texture and cooked to perfection. The pepper sauce is to die for! The whole meal makes you very full it's that good! I didn't like the sticky toffee pudding that much though.

Expensive burger, sounded great but not worth it. Apparently has fillet ends on it which they asked how I wanted cooked (asked for rare as recommended by waiter). Turned up like this. Tiny little scrap of burnt beef topping the burger. Would rate 1 star but have been before and had steak, rated it 4 star last time so wanted to be fair, but this was not a good burger. Also front of house staff had a rude vibe about them.

My husband and I had our 1st date night in 2 years, we booked at Miller and Carter. The service and atmosphere we're incredible. We both had Fillet stake, wow it was the best we've ever had. Highly recommend this restaurant. Thank you x
