Super food and super friendly staff, never had a bad meal here. Try the steak on the stone!I even recently went against better judgement and ordered a Sunday roast out in the evening, didn't disappoint. I'd only order this from a menu and kitchen I trusted.

We were on a very muddy winter walk. Despite this The Royal Oak supplies boot covers, and made us very welcome. Our light lunch choice was a much needed sausage and onion baguette with a little salad garnish. We highly recommend this place, which was a favourite of our family for celebrations. Great to see it still thriving.

Had a brilliant lunch to celebrate my 70th birthday. The food, the staff and the service were first class. Thank you Naomi, all my guests really enjoyed themselves.

Fantastic meal for my mothers birthday - fab service, pies and local ales. Sizeable car park too! Although I wouldn’t usually eat a stew with a hat the pies were amazing ;) first class and we will be back

Wow - the best meal out we have had in a long time!! Cannot recommend the grumpy mole at oxted highly enough. Amazing staff and service and the food was fabulous. Will definitely be back.

My husband and I were recommended Sunday lunch here. We were not disappointed. It was delicious. We both went for the trio of meat. There was so much to enjoy. The only thing we both said was the leeks could of done with a little bit longer as they were a bit tough. Our main server Cameron was a breath of fresh air friendly and great at his job.All the members of staff were welcoming. We would definitely recommend.

Had a great meal at The Grumpy Mole on Friday evening. We hadn't booked but took a chance and just turned up. We asked to sit outside and found a lovely spot on the terrace under the shade of a welcome parasol. Our waitress was very efficient, friendly and polite. The food was served in a timely manner and everything felt relaxed and very welcoming. The two starters we enjoyed were the smoked salmon parcel and cheese & bacon potato skins, both absolutely sublime. For mains we had the Cajun burger with fries, coleslaw and salad, and calves liver, bacon, onions with mash and vegetables. Both delicious. Everything cooked to our liking, so very happy tummies! Can't wait to return here for another great meal in a lovely setting.Had to add another review, as we went back for a great lunch on Saturday. It was a very rainy day but that was completely forgotten the moment we entered The Royal Oak.The waiting staff were absolutely brilliant, made us feel so welcome and valued. We were offered a very cosy table in The Alcove. We chose the lamb rump with Dauphinoise potatoes and vegetables, and the Steak and ale pie with new potatoes and vegetables. Absolutely delicious! This place has become a real gem and the staff appear so committed to giving you a really special experience. A big thanks to everyone at the Grumpy Mole Oxted!

Excellent pub with a delicious and wide-ranging menu for even the fussiest of eaters. Definitely qualifies as a gastropub for even the most discerning customers. Staff also very personable and super-helpful. Can’t recommend it enough. Will be back tomorrow! (Also an amazing view of the countryside and on a very quiet road)
