Lovely village setting, great food, nice little walk by the river, well worth a visit.

We did not have reservations! We showed up and asked to be seated! The hostess at the front was the utmost courteous and professional! She even went out of her way to figure out what table is booked for lot later so we can be accommodated! Just when we have up hope she asked if we could be done eating by certain time which we knew we would. From the time we sat down all the way to the end of the meal our waitress was just lovely and very accommodating too. She is very knowledgeable about the menu and ingredients too!!!The food was delicious and the service was outstanding too!I could not say enough positive things about this establishment as matter fact there is nothing to be grumpy about in here as everyone is just nice and accommodating.I recommend this restaurant and will be back if I am ever back here with the family 😊

Very friendly helpful staff, especially Jack who is great with customers and a real asset to the business. Food was tasty, arrived after a short wait and was hot. Beer well kept. Full marks.

An attractive setting and excellent service. My three companions seemed happy with their meal selection but I, unfortunately, was unlucky with the steak and kidney pudding I chose.

Excellent food, good service. Slight concern on the amount of time to take initial order, then it improved. Would recommend for a midweek lunch.

Have known this venue for many years, but the “Grumpy Mole” chain have made it a great dining venue. I had a Fabulous pie and sauté potatoes- superb desert - and with so much on the menu… all 4 of us were so happy. Great venue and really idyllic too.

We received a very warm welcome at this Grumpy Mole. We were shown to a cosy table beside a fireplace. Our meals were very nice, although not quite as good as other Grumpy Moles we have tried. I had the lamb rump with Dauphinoise potatoes and my husband opted for the beef roast dinner. For starters we had the soup and potato skins with sour cream. However, the service was slow and at times erratic. The staff agreed that the service should have been better and made a small financial amendment to our bill to compensate. I doubt this kind of slow service is the norm here, as the staff really appear to care about your experience, and made us feel very welcome.

Finally a great pub with great service, great food, great portions and value for money. Special mention to the assumed (sorry we didn't get your name) Spanish manager, couldn't have made more of an effort. Very happy family!!

We chose this venue for a Golden Wedding celebration based on a previous visit with friends and it didn’t disappoint. My contact point was Dean and he was super helpful prior to the meal to allow me to take in a celebration cake, table gifts and a balloon. The table wasn’t quite ready when we arrived but we were approached and looked after ordering a first drink. The food menu is appetising and all members of our party were spoilt for choice. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their 3 courses. My only slight criticism is that we were not offered regular drink refills or a wine menu. We would definitely have had more to drink over the course of the evening if we had been asked, this may have been because they were short staffed but this did not dilute the food service and for that we were grateful.Dean was working in the front restaurant that evening but still came back to check on us! He was a star!Thank you, we had a memorable evening and will return.

While nothing earth shattering in terms of menu, the execution of the food and service here really is excellent. Highlights were immaculately prepared calamari, french onion soup, and lamb. The steak was also worthy of its fairly firm price. I am looking forward to returning for a pie.Our host had only spoken English for 2 months but was no less effective nor friendly and really cared for us well.Only reluctantly withheld one star as it took a full hour between sitting and first food, though so pleasant was that hour I didn't terribly mind.
