A good place to stay and to have something to eat whilst in Dorking with the food and the service being great. The room was OK for me to sleep in for one night with the bed being comfortable and the toilet being clean. My only complaint was that there was no soap on the wash basin but other than that I enjoyed my stay where the hotel was an excellent place to coincide with the Dorking vintage bus running day event.

Friendly staff. Fab pool table. They welcome dogs. Pub food that suits to go with beer so loads of chips and that sort of thing. But very reasonably priced, came quickly and was hot. Can't ask more than that. Fab for a relaxed night out

The Bar is fine.. if you like Sport! However the Hotel side of the business should be condemned… unless you like your nasal passages scoured by an over use of shake n vac, …trying to conceal 15 years of grime and dust.A bed with more sag than your Auntie Gladys .. and a decor and electrics similar to a room in a Cold War’s East Berlin Hotel.Be warned, be afraid.

Not the most welcoming of places. Felt like an outsider as soon as I stepped in!!Lighting is a bit strange with some areas bright, and other parts in dark or strange lighting. Music was also a little on the loud side. Good prices tho. And would definitely stop in again, as it's very close to the station! Decent enough place to wait for a bus :)

Brilliant food and lovely decor pub really followed by really nice staff and reasonable prices this place is a little gem I had fish and chips and it was a absolutely stunning the fish was battered to perfection a nice huge portion of chunky chips freshly made tartare sauce and mushy peas can't get any better than that the fish and chips in here is stunning and they always serve with a smile also only ÂŁ8 for top quality tasty big portion food what more could you want I'm so glad this is a local pub to me the new management is really nice and non judgemental their even go the extra mile to help out customers that are more needy now if that's not good service I don't know what isAll In all fantastic pub and its rapidly becoming a local favourite

Loved the place. Very basic but very welcoming. Friendly staff and a completely local vibe. Ford was surprisingly good and drinks crisp. Also has TV screens to watch sports. Located right between 2 stations within 100 meters, this was simply perfect stop on the way back after a long walk around Box Hill.

Avoid this place. We arrived in time to order a meal before 5pm kitchen closure, having had a wonderful day out trecking around stunning nature of Dorking. Instead of getting served, we were yelled at. The waitress barked at my husband in a very rude manner to Go Away and Sit Down ”I will come to you later. She didnt, she decided to leave the area. When questioned what the problem is, she replied ”you cant just come in, you have to sign in” Perplexed, I explained we dont wish to sign in to the lodge to spend a night, we only wanted to dine. We were scoffed at ”no you must sign in”. As it dawned on us that we will not be served, we took our leave, the waitress then laughed at us with few of the locals ”oh they havent heard of Covid”. Needless to say we kept the 2m distance, wore masks, and behaved ourselves. As an ICU nurse I dare say I have a deep understanding what covid is and does. It shouldnt be an excuse to bullying and very upsetting rudeness. At the same time many small businesses are struggling - is there really place on map for tourist culture as this? Back to London we are, and next visit to Dorking, we are sure to bring out own foods with

Traditional pub in between train stations with a walking connection, so useful. Handpump beer was iffy, but at ÂŁ2 a pint cheaper than my village local in the Surrey Hills, who's complaining?

Our experience here was just ok.Pro: Very fresh beer with decent selection. Large patio provided a great option for winding down after a Sunday hike. Reasonable prices. Close to (two of the Dorking) train stations.Con: Interior decor uninviting/too sterile IMO. Kitchen closes at 5pm on a Sunday, which was a little early for us. Had to pay every single drink/food order right away despite table service. Staff friendly but kept mixing up our orders: Twice charged incorrect amount for food and brought wrong drink. A little disappointing given that it wasn't busy. Chips were great but definitely had better burgers (mostly tasted the sauce and bun not the meat or cheese, fried chicken likely cooked from frozen). Will probably look for a different pub next time around.

Nice pub in a lovely part of the world, next to Dorking railway station. Lots of friendly bar staff to serve a good selection of beer and wine. And there are rooms upstairs to stay in if you’ve had too much to drink or get lucky.
