We did a circular walk from Dawes Green and finished with lunch at the Seven Stars - four adults plus two small dogs. We'd booked in advance & asked about the dogs, they provided a great table with a cosy little area for the dogs to rest. The food was excellent (we had a mix of vegetarian, steak and beef brisket) and the staff were working hard on a busy day. The Seven Stars is a discovery for us (we live in Sutton, South London), and we've recommended to other people. There were some works going on outside, I guess to expand the outside seating area, but we were indoors on a chilly late winter day. We will definitely return.

Lovely roast dinner for mothers day. Friendly staff and good atmosphere. Starter menu a little small but the roast dinner was worth it.

ate here for a roast on Sunday. It was very busy so the service was a bit slow but the food was incredible! 10/10 very impressed. We also got there quite late as it was the only time they had availably so we’re expecting them to have run out of all the good stuff but they had everything in stock! will definitely be coming back

When you turn up for a 3pm Sunday lunch reservation you don't expect the pub to be full of diners - but it was. A great testimony on a late January weekend of the draw this place has.Good, efficient service, fantastic portion sized roast on offer, lovely puds and reasonably priced.Top place. We'll be back...

4 of us had a meal there last Saturday. Each one of us had a great meal, which is often not the case in a restaurant. Mains were ragu burger, rib eye steak, pork belly and sea bass. Both starters and main courses were first class and service exemplary. Well done 7 stars.

Popped in for a pint, no effort what so ever to extend the usual warm English welcome; poor service. The lighting is unfortunate, very bright, fire not burning. This old historic pub could be so cozy and inviting with the slightest amount of effort. Will not be revisiting.

Family Sunday dinner, and we were made felt welcome and waited upon extremely well!Staff are attentive and warm.Food was excellent 👌Cannot fault the venue - its undergoing some works to the parking area, but that in no way detracts from the experience. Will be back again !

Gary went out of his way to give my Canadian guests an unforgettable British Pub experience. It has a cozy atmosphere with a fireplace. Dogs welcome. Full of the loveliest, friendly clientele. Big choice of delicious food. The Sunday roasts were lovely. Vegetarian options. Highly recommended.

Great pub. The food was great and the staff are lovely

A beautiful 16th Century pub... Gastro pub theses days.Good menu. Not too many choices, but with all the common pub grub items. Some specials available, one of which was a "Dirty Vicar" (I think) a dipping cheese sharer.Thoroughly recommend this as a stop off if you are going past Leigh. Or even...... special trip out of your way if you fancy it!
