Was wonderful! Kids trampoline(although Adults not allowed!) ;) and food amazing!!!! All home cooked. Lasgane was on point and the best beef pie my husband every had! Gravy is properly homemade too and seasoned to perfection! Plenty of veg and trimmings on a Sunday and beers garden lovely for kids. Interior lovely and staff very friendly. All in all a wonderful place to go if visiting the area.

Amazing pub, very friendly and very good quality food. A great place for the family for a Sunday roast and it's doggy friendly in the restaurant. Also has a play area for the kids. AAA++++

Fairly nice meal. Expected the burger to have more of a taste to it for the price. Otherwise food was nice service was on the slower side

A friend recommended the Tree on box hill and I'm so glad she did , what a lovely welcoming place, the atmosphere was buzzing , family friendly, dogs are very welcome too , the staff could not do enough for you, my bestie and I had the carvery, it was delicious the roast beef was cooked to perfection, I've worked in fine dining and know my stuff when it comes to food, and i can honestly tell you, the roast beef is the best I've tasted in a very long time it melted in my mouth . unfortunately, I couldn't fit a pudding in I was stuffed . I will be back though for sure, I saw the burger go past it looked amazing stacked with cheese oozing out of the bun😋 . what a great place I will definitely be a regular visitor they do live entertainment, hold parties weddings, Mmmm and my total favourite afternoon tea . See you very soon 😍👍re photo the plate says it all 🤣

I want to start by saying I was recommended this place on a local group when asking for a nice roast dinner, several people highly recommended you but we had never visited before apart from for drinks on one occasion. Apon arrival a table wasn't quite ready but we were a few minutes early, was sorted promptly by a lady I assume was a manager. However the table had no cutlery for us and no one brought any too us even when my sons kids meal came so we had to take from a nearby table. We were sat for over 20 minutes before anyone came to take a drinks order. When they did we ordered our food in the same batch which was carveries. Drinks arrived promptly and we were handed two tokens for the carvery and told "you can go up anytime" but as the staff member said this the carvery area was busy so she then said "actually not yet". We assumed she would be back to let us know we could go up but she didn't return. After 20 minutes I asked her if we could go up yet to which she said yes you go up whenever you want? A bit of a mix up with communication but not a big deal. Waited a while for service at the carvery deck, lots of staff around but not the right staff for the carvery. Eventually they came and were polite and helpful, served good portions. The carvery is a mix of them serving you and you serving yourself from slow cooking pots at the side which I found a little odd. I also want to add I struggle with my mobility and am only 5ft1, and the pots are a rather high level, not very accessible even to someone able bodied and I really struggled to plate my foot, there was also not really room to put your plate down, so had to balance it whilst doing everything, the hardest part was a huge tall vat of Gravy of which was really awkward to manage as it was so high and due to the nature of it being a hot runny liquid. One pot was entirely empty so not sure what was supposed to be in there but we felt we had a lot of variety regardless so it wasn't an issue. The food was delicious despite my worries of it being in slow cookers (I thought perhaps veg might be soggy) but I can hand on heart say it was all delicious, perfectly cooked, nothing was soggy, and the meat was cooked to perfection, we found the Yorkshire a weird texture so left the majority but apart from that it was beautiful. Gravy was very runny and could have done with thickening but it was delicious and clearly made with the beef juices which gave it a lot of flavour. Sadly we found the pudding menu uninspiring, we decided to go for ice cream sundaes, I asked for vanilla and my partner chocolate. When they arrived we both had 1 sccop of strawberry and 1 scoop of chocolate with a small bit of cream on top, half a strawberry and a flake. Not only were we disappointed as this is not what we had ordered, the ice cream was also poor quality and icy. These cost £6.99 and weren't even worth half of that. We did tell the waitress that we had ordered different ice creams and to her credit she instantly offered to rectify the issue but by this point we just wanted to eat up and get out so we kept them, service had been very slow despite being quite a few staff around and we just didn't want the hassle. Another note is that we were sat directly next to the pool table where there were young children screaming and shouting whilst playing (and also climbing all over the pool table and surrounding furniture). Whilst I understand it's a family venue I do feel that the children should have been supervised but parents were at a table the other side of the room and did not care despite the noise. Overall a mixed bag, the delicious roast was the saving grace, but I don't think we will return sadly.

We were really looking forward to a nice Sunday Roast, which is even described as a hearty dish on the menu and you would hope so for £16.99.So we were shocked and disappointed how small the portion was when it arrived. A slither of pie, 1 parsnip, 3 little spuds, shavings of cabbage and a few carrots and 12 peas. Everything was tasty but for £16.99, this was a rip off. We asked for more veg on the side and the staff did bring out extra but after we had finished. There was a table behind us who also gasped at the size and asked the waitress where the rest was, the waitresses (bless them) looked very embarrassed to serve it.The waitress knocked off the cost of one meal which was sweet but overall, just a poor experience, especially when we travelled an hour to get there. We won’t be coming back unfortunately, not at least whilst this chef is here.
