Pros: generous portions of food, lovely flakey cod, well cookedCons: not sure how it was packed but the cardboard underneath the fish caused the batter to go all soggy on one side. So had to throw most of the batter away. Spoilt the experience unfortunately. Especially since I had heard such good things

Visited Bertie's lunch time today for the first time. What a lovely welcome from Craig, the food is simply delicious!!! We highly recommend this place. It was a very refreshing change to see such professional staff. Can not wait to visit again. Well done Bertie's!!!!

Whenever we take a trip to Lyndhurst we always stop off to see the new forest pony's., from there we walk to Bertie's for take away cod and chips, sit and eat them in the car while watching the pony's. It really is the best fish and chips, we wouldn't think about going anywhere else. The fish is cooked to perfection, they also have a restaurant if you prefer to eat in. Highly recommend good choice, good value, friendly staff.

Popped in for tea after checking out the pub meals, which where quite expensive. We ate in and ordered, our food was served quickly and hot. A lovely cooked meal for alot less. Would definitely go back to eat again.

The small cod that comes with the All Day Meal 1 option was a very good size! Chips were piping hot. Very clean and polite staff. Quiet when we went at 8pm on a midweek evening in August.
