Although above my usual price range I had a lovely stay. What you see is what you get..... great rural location, friendly attentive staff, comfortable homely rooms and an exceptionally comfortable bed 😃 Meal choices slightly restricted but good presentation, very flavoursome and pleases the palate 100%

Have very mixed feelings about this wedding venue. Although the location and ceremony rooms are beautiful and the coordinator excellent the food for our 75 guest was completely different to the agreed tasting menu and was almost inedible. Vegetarian option was tasteless. Aftercare non existent, 2 emails sent but no replying explanation. Very disappointing for such a expensive venue.

Went for afternoon tea with my work colleagues and we had the room to ourselves, it was a beautiful day - all the nature outside the window. The afternoon tea was lovely! Plenty of food cake and tea. All in all, a lovely afternoon tea and highly recommend!

Wedding venue perfect but food was terrible! Not what the bride and groom experienced at their tasting menu. Such a disappointment for them and all the guests who were expecting a 5 star meal. Such a shame we can’t remember this special day without feeling somewhat cheated 😢

Lovely place, food a bit pretentious for my tastes but it's still nice probably for those who like that sort of food. But the staff, grounds etc. We're awesomeOnly negative is the drinks menu is insanely expensive! Beers and bottles are fine but if you're drinking spirits and wine be prepared to pay for it!

Haven't got a clue what it costs to stay here as our good friends treated us !The staff were all attentive friendly and professional. Especially the young lady at breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble and breakfast was a treat in itself. The bar and lounge are most impressive....grand but also comfortable and intimate. We stayed in large room over looking the pool and deer park. This room was suitable for a wheelchair user.Massive comfortable bedArmchairs you can position to suit yourself.Complimentary bathroom products hot drinks and bottled water...just ask for more when required.Negatives ...only 1 . Dinner...the portions were fashionably small and I was still hungry at the end i realise that some people like this style of dining and yes perhaps i am a little uncouth but I am very glad that I wasn't paying.Would i stay there again. YES of course.Dinner.....mmmm might skip that

Stayed there for my friend's wedding, excellent experience. The grounds are amazing and the manor even better. The staff were all helpful and attentive, food was impeccable and the whole weekend was a triumph

Lovely location, only 5 miles from our house, nice for a change. Inflated bar prices as expected but the Breakfast was lovely, good quality ingredients. Very little to do in Burley but good location for walks into the Forest. Only mild grumble would be the Room, dated furniture as you would expect, but very tired, damaged and well worn, quite stained carpets and the hoover didn't look like it had visited. Would recommend the Queens Head for an evening meal and drinks.

Our 3 or 4th return here and our 2nd NYE.However we were a little disappointed this time. The hotel seemed to lack it's festive cheer and decor. Only one tree in the restaurant and a small one in the bar this year. Our first NYE definitely had the wow factor but this time it had less of an impact. Our check in of 2 double rooms were of very different quality and size! I have to say it was the smallest room we have ever had here. Also no information was given about itinerary of New year's IE: champagne reception, quizzes, or maps on local walks. A treasure hunt walk in the village had been produced in previous years. The NYE entertainment of disco and photo was great but midnight was more of a fizzle rather than a bang. No champagne, and as on previous occasions, this time no piper. In the grounds they had igloos which we asked if we could book for afternoon tea but we were told they weren't being used, despite their website saying they were available. On checking out and spending around 2k for the 2 night break we were then told we couldn't receive our loyalty points for this stay 🤷But, the hotel is still charming and set in wonderful grounds. The staff worked hard and the food, particularly the breakfast of local produce was awesome. It was also lovely to see the manager Adam and the wonderful Marion who added that personal feel to the place. Thank you.
