Just round the corner from where we were staying.Bonus dog friendly. Booking is recommended if you are going to eat, especially at the weekends, completely rammed.Table service only, large portions, friendly staff, the ice cream is delicious, be prepared to wait for your food as stated on the menu

Lovely lunch in the garden. Coronation chicken baguette and bacon brie and cranberry were really tasty. The service was really good, relaxed and casual. Would recommend.

Very nice bacon and brie with cranberry sauce rustic baguette that tasted even better after a bike ride. Very friendly staff and they also welcome dogs. There is a spacious beer garden because the inside of the pub is quite small.

Lovely food.staff very nice.but very expensive.we spent about 47 pound for fish and chip meal for 2. .2 beer. 1 coffee..soft drink.then there's a 10 per cent surcharge on your bill as well.which there's no choice to pay which was nearly 5 pound. Lovely food but not worth 47 pound.wouldnt and couldn't afford to go there again .

Nice lunch of liver and onions. Hard to find nowadays. Well cooked tender and very tasty with a lovely pint of Guinness. Good intake of iron for the day. 🙂

Came in today 5 Feb 21, after a walk in the forest. I did wonder why the car park was nearly empty but then went in and was disappointed to hear the kitchen shuts at 1500. Probably explains why it it was quiet for a Saturday. Lady manager seemed to have an attitude as we weren’t locals. Younger serving staff were pleasant though. Stayed for a pint and a hot chocolate, wished we hadn’t bothered tbh. Hot chocolate was just powdered with water, looked and tasted like a muddy puddle. Plenty of other more welcoming pubs around the forest to go to, give this one a miss.

Spontaneous visit at 5pm on a Tuesday evening. Warmly welcomed by the new Manager. Let us know they don’t start serving dinner till 5:30pm. But would be more than happy to get us drinks and provide us menu’s. Made sure we had a lovely table with enough room for both our Dog’s. Lovely little pub with great character and lovely roaring open fires. The menu is small but enough variety for all. Starters where lovely, we had Pate and Baked Breaded Brie.A good variety of drinks, with several largers on tap on offer, including Moretti & Amstel. Three different Ale’s on tap too.For mains our group of four enjoyed the Gammon, Ultimate Burger and the Pie of the day - which was Peppered Steak. All very tasty and well presented. All meals where of substantial size. The gammon had freshly grilled Pineapple and tasty looking eggs. The Pie had steak that melted in your mouth. The burger was huge - homemade onion rings and topped with a gherkin. For pudding we enjoyed a variety. One had Sticky toffee, Crumble, Three Gingers and the fourth had the Cheese cake. We all loved each pud!Overall a very satisfying visit and very full tummies! Great service by both the Staff and excellent quality food!Couldn’t have asked for more! A great find, just 5 minutes drive from Sandy Balls.Thank you!

A beautiful pub with a lovely garden in the New Forest. The staff were amazing. Helpful with local information. The food was lovely. The Grapefruit, Cashew Nut and Fig salad was very nice. A lovely place to relax after a days walking.

We visit this pub quite often as we live a little walk away. Great service, friendly staff, yummy food and drinks. Good garden area to enjoy a few pints as well. Covid has unfortunately made the service less than it used to be - understandably so - and because of this the added service fee on our receipt came as a bit of a surprise.
