Visited today for the first time. Lovely little cafe with beautiful decor and excellent service! We tried their English breakfast and egg & bacon waffles, as well as the cherry raspberry tart and brioche slice. Everything was made on the premises and the quality was superb! The only downside was that we couldn't eat more of the food 😂 We will be back soon to try the rest of their menu!

Merritts was highly recommended to me by a friend, and that recommendation was justified. Only been a couple of times but everything from the lovely friendly staff, the gorgeous food, the soothing music and fantastic decor ticks all my boxes. In the world of chain run cafés, Merritts is an oasis. Please use this lovely place.

We recently discovered this little gem on our return back to London.Lovely quirky and bohemian setting serving excellent food and superb coffee.It's an absolute must if you are visiting Ashurst!

Outstanding, quirky atmosphere, delicious food, high quality ingredients. Loved it. Small kitchen meant catering for egg allergy wasn't possible but otherwise perfect. Nice coffee too.

Great food, coffee and atmosphere. I was searching for the best cafe in the New Forest, and this place often came up high in various rankings. After a bit of research and seeing the decor, I decided this was the place to take my friend to. And certainly, it was the right choice. The maple latte was great, and though it was my first time trying pecan pie, I can confidently say it was an excellent pecan pie. The lady running the cafe was very polite, and provided superb service despite being very busy.

Lovely cafe, been meaning to visit for a while. Stopped for coffee and cake on the way back from our bike ride this morning. Good coffee and lovely homemade cakes, definitely need to come for breakfast sometime! We'll be back 😊
