Mr Eddy's Tea Rooms in New Forest

My family went there on Father's day and the service was not great. We ordered the meals for all the adults including a "fish goujon with chips" which was under the adults menu. My wife then asked if they had a children's menu and we ordered the fish fingers for her. We additionally ordered a particular quiche for my mother.Well after we pay we are told by the stand where you can pick up some of the food that they didn't have any of that quiche even though it was on the sign. So we had to get her something else. Then the food took a long time to come and my wife never received her smoothy so we had to chase this up. Then all the food came out apart from my wifes. She chased this up but apparently they didn't include this in our order.The ridiculous thing is they kept asking if we ordered an adult or a childs fish fingers. On the menu they aren't named the same thing they are fish goujons for the adults and fish fingers for the children's so we were not confused as my wife and I ordered together (in order to pick up all the drinks).They then made my wifes order but we had to pay for it (as it apparently had not been included in the original order but they don't have receipts so could not verify this) my wife had to chase up a discount (they gave 10% but my wife said she already got this on the other order due to us having membership so only got another 10%).All in all it was just extremely poorly managed and everyone that worked there was pretty hopeless and enpt.

We had a snack and a drink there as part of our visit to Exbury Gardens. Motorway service station prices, but good quality.

Excellent lunch, though not a huge choice of dishes. Sensibly priced and generous portions. NB you can visit Mr Eddy's without paying to go into the gardens.

Terrible. For such a premium attraction this let's things down and is one of the reasons why we won't be renewing our Annual pass. Luckily there is the vegan food kiosk which is excellent, or the pizza kiosk. One does not always want coffee with oat milk, or to wait 60 minutes for a pizza. Mr Eddy's if properly managed, with a quality offering could be very goodIt however, is extremely poor and was even closed when we visited last Sunday.

You can use this cafe without needing to go into the Gardens. Good selection of lovely cakes. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. A little bit more expensive than some other cafes in the area.

Part of the gardens ,just mentioned, managed to provide a fast service for the visitors, plenty of room, staff are efficient and welcoming. Very good for families; food of good quality. Conviences are good and clean met a squirrel, who seem to be indignant at me, for disturbing its foraging activities.

Very pleasant tea room, lots of outside seating to take in the view and reflect on the gardens. Prices were on the high side, but they have less trading hours than most other similar outlets. Staff were friendly and gave good service. Food was good quality and well presented.

We had Quiche, salad and chips for lunch. It was very tasty but the catering assistant was very stingy with the chips! 2 other customers asked if they could have a few more after he put a measly amount on the plate!The girl on the till was obviously new as she wasn't that confident and the catering assistant had to help her as well as trying to serve hot food. We asked the girl on the till for some salad cream. She clearly doesn't know the difference between salad cream and tartar sauce as she gave us tartar sauce!.... Also there was no tomato sauce in the restaurant, we were told they didn't have any.Apart from that, the food was nice and the staff were doing their best and were polite, but they needed a bit of support.

Delicious coffee, very clean and covid safe. There's plenty of seating inside and outside.My only criticism is that the young women serving our coffee handled the cups at the rim where you have to drink from. A definite poor hygiene practice. I think they have a training issue.I don't understand why they don't accept cash, it's card payments only.

The food is fine and the service but can get a bit hectic at the busy times. The prices are a bit steep, there isn't anything else around to go too so go in enjoy the food and go back out and go around the grounds again and walk it off.
