Spent a most rewarding couple of hours dining at this restaurant on Friday evening. It is a restaurant that we have frequently passed while traveling through Lyndhurst and it always looked inviting. At long last I was able to visit (albeit on my own) while my wife was at a local function. Good an excuse as any.I was impressed with the friendly service and even more so with the quality of the food. I went for the 'Railway' (Chicken) under the Chef's specials. Green Chillies were added extra, as I like a bit of heat and it was 'just right' for me.Can't wait to return. Book early though as it seems very popular. Thanks also to the couple from Reading who were on the adjacent table for being so friendly and providing some conversation during the time there.

I am Brazilian, live in US and my husband as a proper British was craving for the perfect Indian food when visiting UK.We ended up in Lyndhurst for 2 days and decided to go to finally have his meal.Btw, Indian food is never my first choice, but had a chance ( I can’t deal with hot food, personal taste). Anyway, it was a great feast and party of flavours. Absolutely superb! And we can forget mentioning that the 2 gentlemen that was attending us are totally kind, attentive and beyond professionals - a great soul. We could feel it on how they treat my 5 yo son. They are special and deserve a visit, better a permanent visit.Try the Tamarin Chicken with coconut rice.

Had a lovely meal here, staff were very friendly and attentive and the food was delicious. Catered for my gluten free diet although I was a little disappointed that I couldn't have popadoms. A big range of curries available and if you can't eat it all they will put it in a carton for you to bring home, don't be embarrassed to ask this as they are more than happy to oblige! Use the car park in the high street, free after 19.00. Nice little touches were hot towels after our meal, spray hand sanitiser on each table, chocolates and the offer of a complimentary Baileys with the bill, all little things but it's the little things that matter. A lovely meal and good atmosphere in the restaurant.

The food was delicious and the portion's generous. It was good value.. The menu was imaginative. But it was the generousity of spirit, the hospitality and the sheer charm of all the staff that make it quite special. One of our party spiled a glass of wine. It was immediately and graciously replaced free of charge. After the meal we were offered a drink and when we left we forgot a hat. The owner? ran after us to hand it back. Special.

MORE THAN 5 STARSOne of the best Indian meals I’ve ever had. The tikka meat in particular was very tender and flavourful just like the rest of the food. The front of house manager Raaj is extremely friendly and professional.Definitely Coming back when in Lyndhurst

Good food. The last two times we have been they put us next to party tables of 8. 1st time we thought we were unlucky. Then 2nd time we asked to move and the staff refused. Unbearable language and drunken behaviour from the table next to us, staff didn't care ruining our meal for two will not return. so be careful where they place you

I am staying in Lyndhurst on business and I was recommended ā€˜Passage to India’ by my hotel.I walked in at a little before 6pm requesting a table for 1, I was initially greeted before another member of staff came to me and said ā€˜sorry sir we are fully booked’There was one other table occupied and the rest were empty.I was one professional businessman wanting a meal for just myself and with all the other tables vacant I feel they could have squeezed me in, I would have been done in less than an hour.I will not be giving this place another chance.

Loved this place and the staff who were working on Tuesday evening. The service was very good and the food was delicious. Expensive but well worth it. Would highly recommend this restaurant
