Rose and Crown in New Forest

We were slightly early for our booking, we had booked an Alfresco lunch. We were told that we could get a drink and sit in the garden and then will be shown to our table when it was ready. We found it odd that we were not allowed to eat at the table we had chosen in the garden as this was in the sunshine and were moved to sit in the shade on the terrace. We were really impressed with the menu and the selection that it had and decided that we would have a selection of starters to share. We did find these were all heavily priced, close to £10 per plate. The food arrived quickly and the server we had (South African chap) was really helpful and friendly. We did feel that the food was nice, however not worth its price. We then spent the rest of the day in the garden with a few drinks which was lovely. We did find that some of the staff may have been quite new but everyone seemed friendly enough. We would come back for a drink for sure, however not for food due to its overpricing.

Stayed for one night to break our journey to the Isle of Wight. Friendly and helpful staff, nice room in the courtyard, bathroom was very dusty but otherwise clean. Evening menu quite expensive with not a great deal of choice. English breakfast OK apart from spicy sausage and spicy beans! Would stay again.

Decided to go here after looking for somewhere to eat while staying in the area.Managed to book a table online about an hour before we needed it.Easy to get to, and find in Brockenhurst - it has a car park.The menu has something for all tastes and the food is priced fairly for what it is.The interior is lovely and the staff were very friendly and attentive - even having a joke with our children about their mock-tails.The food was delicious and served hot. The pizzas are made in a separate part and you can see them being made from the restaurant.We went as a family with two younger teenagers and they enjoyed it.Recommended.

Unfortunately I cannot give 5 star as... no blue cheese sauce available with steak, no red onion in salad and no cheese board dessert 😪 otherwise excellent. Highly recommended the Rioja and a wonderful gingerbread ice creamMany thanks

Very good restaurant. We stayed at the hotel the night so ended up having a breakfast, lunch and dinner here - all amazing. The steak dinner was fantastic (pro tip: swap out the chips for mash). Could have done with a little more baked beans for breakfast but otherwise perfect start to the day.

Absolutely wonderful place to eat and drink. Warm friendly and the food is exceptional and the service is warm and lovely. Marcell is particularly lovely to be served by and makes you feel welcomed ! And they don’t mind me studying away with my laptop as well which is a huge bonus!

Wonderful service - very friendly, patient, and enthusiastic servers. Great with recommendations, gracious in making changes to the menu, and lovely friends to our dogs! Was great to be accommodated so well, especially when we kept adding people to the table booking! Food was good, atmosphere was lovely, definitely an enjoyable experience.

Gorgeous place inside and out. Reasonable amount of parking. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. We stayed in one of the rooms. Very clean and tidy. Quirky. Nice big walk in shower. The bed wasn't quite a double, so we struggled a little. The courtyard was very cute. Housing plenty of tables and chairs. The restaurant was buzzing. Again, the staff are go out of their way to make your experience a great one. And we did have a great time! The menu can accommodate both foodies and fussys. Food was cooked to a great standard. We also dived into the cocktail menu. They're great as well! Breakfast the next morning was quite reasonable also. Will definitely come back. And will recommend to anyone looking for a lovely night away.

It was a pleasant stay, a few things are really good but there is room for improvement. The staff are efficient, polite and helpful. The food was of a good quality and service very good. However, the toilets in the pub are so dark, the lighting is very poor and the decor very dark too. Also the main dining area is lovely but there is an area at the back where some guests/diners are put which has very drab decor and lighting too and you can just about see your food and the area has no atmosphere. At 10pm the bar closed and we couldn't get a drink which was annoying.The garden area is lovely. We would stay again mostly because the staff are so good and the food and drink good. The manager was very efficient and friendly and has a great team too.
