Stag Hotel in New Forest

I was gifted a booking at this restaurant last week when I visited the New Forest for a few days. I must say that the food was the BEST food I have had in quite some time (plus I may of had a little too much of it!). The staff were lovely and I was surprised by the size of the courtyard and seating options outside since we made use of the good weather by sitting out there. The food went down a treat with my boyfriend, too. We are now letting people know that if they are visiting/passing through they MUST book an evening with you!

Amazing! Popped in to have late lunch. What a treat! Very pleasant and efficient service and staff. The food… i ordered the Stag Burger… WOW!!! It was one of the best burgers i have ever had! Very generous portion and very delicious!Thank You for looking after me! And i will certainly be back!!!

We stayed here for a trip to visit with family in the area and everything from the room, to the restaurant, and wait and bar staff was amazing! The staff were always eager to help you with any questions, wants, or needs, they were very attentive to all their guests! Rooms were clean with updated bathrooms, and maid services daily! The covered outdoor patio with headed lamps was perfect to sit under on those chilly England nights! The menu had plenty options to pick from and make sure you stay over on a Sunday for a proper English roast!! The Stag sits perfectly on the High Street for local shopping and close to the New Forest for site seeing horses, cows, pigs, and deer! Close to Southampton for more shopping and site seeing! I can't wait to come back and visit more in the area!

Our room was exceptional and far exceeded our expectations- lovely bathroom with soft fluffy towels- great shower/ the bed was comfy and dressed beautifully- spotlessly clean / obviously recently refurbished and to a high standard. Great service - the breakfast was very good however construe cost I would have expected it to be included in the priceThe evening meal was nice but not great - happy hour was a definite hit

Just had an amazing three days stay. Great food, great room,staff and atmosphere.The owners Steve and Maria made us feel very welcome.They gave me an early birthday gift which was a wonderful suprise. Gardens are lovely, very dog friendly 😊Would recommend as a wonderful stay in the New Forest

The food was absolutely outstanding. Chloe was a wonderful waitress who added to our experience. There were dogs everywhere! This was a really lovely evening in a pub restaurant which teemed with life. Recommended.

The drinks were slow to arrive but that’s no big problem. Our server Tom was amazing though, he helped my grandmother get seated and was very knowledgeable about the menu and helped my gluten intolerant auntie pick her food. He made the experience of waiting for the drinks a thing of the past! Give him a raise!

A fantastic looking building, great example of the New Forest architectural style. Housing 11 bedrooms, a big spacious restaurant & a buzzing bar. They also have a massive garden with space for drinking, eating, kids to play & they even have chickens! Added Brucey bonus is that they are dog friendly!!ps. I had the baked camembert with gluten free bread... Was delicious!! 5 🌟

Thank you Maria, Steve & staff for a brilliant 3 days we have just had with friends, you were all so friendly. The rooms were really clean & comfortable, the food we had was amazing, looking forward to returning when all the bathroom refurbishments have finished. A fantastic stay was had by all 😁
