Really disappointing meal - I ordered a roast, my partner ordered a burger. His was ok, though the waitress preferred to instruct us to get the sauce she had offered rather than getting it for us. My roast was pretty awful - there was more fat than meat, the potatoes were underdone, the apple sauce tasted of nothing and the cauliflower cheese advertised on the menu had no cheese on and was also underdone. Definitely not worth the £17, I won't be eating there again

Cosy New Forest pub off the beaten track and the photos do not do justice for how comforting this pub is and the interior decor and being set near a lake. Unfortunately, the views and interior were the only best parts of this pub.Unfortunately, the staff and food are what brings this pub down from being a 5* experience. Firstly, the website is not updated - the kitchen opening times on the website said 9pm , we arrived around 7.30pm to be told that the kitchen is closing at 8 - this meant we had to quickly decide what to order and put it through the bar. When the food arrived, I was disappointed that the triple cooked chips didn't look or taste triple cooked. These were skinny supermarket tasting fries rather than a chunky proper pub chip as advertised on their website. The fish tasted OK and the minted peas were nice. Very false advertising and it was only after I paid for the bill and said to the waiter that the quality of this dish was not good. He agreed to knock off the price for my main but this was only 20% . Once our food arrived, our waiter did not check in if we were happy with our dish, instead we were ignored and most restaurants would have replaced the dish or given a full refund, but not this pub. I will be pursuing a refund because the chips came out cold, they weren't even piping hot.I would be very mindful of visiting this pub again because the dishes are not what is advertised and also my partner thought his dish was very small. Not worth £16 a dish.

Standard pub fare. I was surprised with the service actually because it was very busy but we received our food after half an hour of sitting down so well done for that! Pleasant beer garden and children's play area. Ample parking for many visitors. All in all not bad.

Really nice pub out in the New Forest. Menu is relatively small but all the food on it is done exceptionally well (quality over quantity), nice beer garden as well.As an added bonus, donkies are usually hanging around the front gate 😀

We stopped here for a car event, on route to Christchurch. Although we only had a drink, there were plenty of people eating and the food looked delicious. There's a spacious car park in front of the pub - which is really attractive. There are outside tables, for warmer days. Dogs are allowed inside and out. The staff were friendly and welcoming providing a good service. The bathrooms are clean. The wild ponies wander on the large grass area at the front. A great place to stop in the middle of the new forest.

We came across this pub whilst out exploring the New Forest. They kindly found us a table, even though we hadn’t booked, the staff were really friendly and helpful. The food and drink selection was varied and great quality. I had the burger which was absolutely beautiful. Warm atmosphere and a beautiful location. I’d highly recommend the Alice Lisle. Hope to come back again soon.

It should have been better I feel, £8.00 chicken and bacon sandwich on brown bread. No fries due to gas shortage? Tastless tofu. 4 menus on offer on a weekday lunch so a lot to choose from, Nice staff. Lovely pub.

Very tasty food ! No doubt we will visit again! Very bussy for the remote location I would say but still they manage to get us a table without booking in advance. I had a issue with my dish but they handled it really well and I was happy with the outcome even though the issue was quite frustrating and of a kind that never happened to me . Your food is outstandingly delicious but please chek the dish before you hand it to the customer just in case . I hope you understand :)

Food was delicious and service great. Really big beer garden which would be incredible in the summer. Only issue is there was a really strong smell of sewage around the whole pub, it was quite off putting. Other than that it was all really good, so maybe there was an issue that day that caused the smell.

We went for lunch on Boxing Day, a table for 8 pre booked. The food and service was excellent. The young girls serving were polite and very pleasant. A beautiful location, which will be amazing in the summer. Will definitely return. Xxx
