The Britannia Thai Restaurant in New Forest

Food is fantastic & served quickly, however, this was the second time we have been here (as locals) & been made to feel unwelcome & rushed! Google clearly states opening times until 10.30pm Friday & Saturday! We arrive just after 9 on both occasions, the first time requested we take away, to be told the kitchen closes at 10, which is fair enough it’s not taking us long to order & eat a main meal as only 2 of us..but then proceed to get the hoover out at 9.50pm whilst we are eating..very frosty reception as seems they only want the early bird trade & not those of us that work full time & like to eat a little later.. both occasions we were respectful & ordered only one drink so as we were not lingering but do not expect to be given the bums rush way before closing time.. disappointing as food is lovely but we will take out custom elsewhere next time.

Great service, delicious food, more expensive than indian or chinese but less oil and overall very easy on the tunmy....

Much larger than it seems Thai located in an old pub. Good quality Thai food cooked to order using fresh ingredients with great flavours.

The service is good and the food is excellent and on its own is worth 5 stars. However he decor is white and bland with bright down lights and lacks ambience. It's somewhere to go to eat, which is great if that's all you want, but we won't go back as for us there's more to dining out. I suggest the owners go to Christchurch and look at the Rising Sun for ideas.

We had a good meal, staff are great, friendly and attentive. Would recommend it.

The food was delicious. I am allergic to fish and seafood so didn't think I could eat here but I spoke to the staff and because everything is made fresh they made mine without using fish sauce. My partner said it was the best Thai meal he had had outside of Thailand. I would definitely recommend.

When is a Thai not (really) a Thai restaurant?When it isn't owned by people from Thailand.But they make quite a good fist at it.Not authentic but many Asian and even Italian restaurants and take-aways are owned by other nationalities.Good service but we weren't served by a Thai.

Excellent all round. We celebrated our first wedding anniversary here and could be happier. Service was fantastic and food even better. By far one of the best Thai restaurants in the UK.
