The George in New Forest

Had a lovely meal at The George last night. It has a nice situation on the river and the service was excellent yet causal. Proactive and really considerate. Enjoyed our meals and the dessert was yummy. Would thoroughly recommend.

We've always gone to the George on our regular trips to Fordingbridge and found the staff very welcoming and the food superb. Our trip in June this year found the staff still welcoming but the pub itself has lost the ambience it used to have. Maybe because of it's early closing policy and that you are unable to book a table after 19:30 hrs and they clearly want you gone by 21:30,hrs

Such a lovely day by the river. I have to give a huge well done to the staff here. They are all so polite and so helpful. It is the nicest service I have experienced in a long time.

We randomly decided to drive up to Fordingbridge in the afternoon and on the way there already decided to go and visit the George - we're so glad we did! Lovely pub, great location, friendly staff - we sat in the beer garden, right by the river and soaked up the relaxing atmosphere - a really enjoyable experience - next time we come, we'll have something to eat - the menu looks really good and other diners were very complimentary about their food.

Just back from an amazing Sunday lunch. Roast lamb was so tender and flavoursome. Everything was perfectly cooked. Literally nothing left on mine and my friends plates. Staff were attentive and friendly.

My Friend and myself have been for lunch must say it was amazing the food was lovely. Staff very welcoming nothing to much trouble. My little dog polly enjoyed all the attention from polly the waitress. Would recommend the lovely pub to all my friends well worth a visit.

Amazing place. Really enjoyed our lunchtime meal. Super friendly service. The chicken burger and sweet potato fries was so nice. Dog friendly, even has a doggie menu. COVID aware and enclosed private dining huts outside. Great place. Definitely recommend stopping in for either a light bite or main meal.

During difficult times, booked a 'gastropod'. This meant we were in a pod, heater and were able to feel ok eating out.Staff were excellent and had a lovely christmas menu which was great to eat.Would definately recommend to keep local businesses thriving at this challenging time and for those worried about eating out,felt completely safe.

Big outdoor area with plenty of seating. Great location. Had a great lunch on our way back from holiday which helped break up the journey. Love the introduction of the doggie menu.

Had a beautiful meal! The food platters were amazing. Sat inside but had a brilliant view of the river! The cocktails were brilliant!All the staff were so friendly helpful and really enjoyed the evening. Will certainly be going back.
