The Heath in New Forest

Ordered cheesy gravy chips. Assumed the chips would be cheesy and a side of gravy. How wrong can you get. Vile in short. Chips were poorly cooked, felt they might have been reheated to be honest.

My partner and I love this pub and call in every so often on our way back from visiting relatives nearby. Every time we do we are always greeted in a friendly manner and although we rarely make reservations they always try their best to find us a table. The food is exactly what we are after in terms of gastro pub style comfort food and the prices are perfectly reasonable for what you get. I would highly recommend stopping here for food during a nice day out with the family/ a walk in the new forest

A well run friendly pub restaurant. A large range of food and drink. The quality of the food is excellent, this is a dog friendly place with plenty of car parking and out door seating. It is a busy pub so it is best to book.

Had a Sunday roast for a family birthday. Xavier made us feel incredibly welcome from the moment we booked until we left. We ordered 2 gammon roasts, a beef roast and 3 kids’ meals. Considering it was 4pm it was impressive that the beef wasn’t dry at all. The kids’ 3 course meals were exceptional value for the price and we were very envious when their pancake desserts arrived. My boyfriend upgraded for £1 which was well worth it. The only other roasts locally are double the price! We will definitely be back! Gemma, Neil & Family

We have just returned from here after a Valentines Dinner, well what can I say disgusting. I think they forgot we were there . Our meal of steak ordered was dry and burnt and we waited 30mins for it. When finished our plates sat in front of us and nobody came near us to ask if we wanted a dessert. Even when we asked for the bill usually they say was everything alright, we got none of this. So disappointed 😞 this place has really gone down hill. They don't seem to have enough staff to cope. Will not be returning anytime soon .

Overall a good meal out for five of us, great burger, good vegetarian dish and starter. 2 mixed grills had overdone steaks (Not surprising as they are small for a mixed grill) and too much gristle to enjoy. 2 of the five dessert menus had alternative desserts which weren't available. Sticky toffee pudding was nice but came with custard and not icecream as on the menu.

I enjoyed a beautiful gammon steak. It was full of flavour and cooked perfectly. The heath has a welcoming feel and the staff are very attentive. I will return!

Didn’t have to wait long.It’s easy to get to and has a large car park next to it.Right opposite the New Forest where you can burn off all the calories you have just eaten.I would recommend it as a visitor to the area and you may have to book in the busier period’s.

Middle of the road pub food at a good value. Staff were good and service was quick. But I just can't get over the paint job on the inside. I dont understand how you could get it this wrong then just leave it ...
