The Horse and Groom in New Forest

Cannot say how nice this pub is. We really don't want to share the location a its just a stand out pub with a fantastic garden. The staff are so helpful, polite and couldn't do more to help. The food? Omg the food was fit for a king and that's no lie!! We had ploughman's lunch...Huge in every way. The crusty bread was spot on and we have only praise for the whole team. We will be back with friends. Andy n Sarah

Great pub very good service (table service, no getting up to order food or another drink) The beer was well kept, we had 49er and Summer lightning. The food was very good but I would have liked more veg with the pie, just a very small amount of peas and mash potatoes and gravy. We will go there again, maybe try the Sunday roast.

Great food, a warm welcome and a treat to finish.We (2 adults and 2 children) turned up without booking but we were welcomed and sat quickly. The menu is varied and the items we ordered were well presented and very tasty. The staff were also excellent, and when it came to paying we had a handful of mini eggs on to of the bill which was a lovely little touch.We live 30 minutes from here but our 10 year olds son has requested we come here again for his birthday meal!

Popped in with a friend who was a regular here years ago. Good news is it's still a great pub. Only came in for a drink but the roast dinners looked so good we were tempted and not disappointed. As good a roast as you'll find anywhere, all home cooked and fresh. The landlord is South African which is usually a sign that all will be done properly and so it is. Great selection of local beers, I had a pint of the English IPA, and the staff are brilliant. Excellent service, friendly, helpful and seemed to know the names of most of the people there. It was a busy Sunday lunchtime but not packed so we found a seat quickly. No hanging around for food or drink, I just wish I lived closer. If you're in the area, go there

Really nice country pub that allows dogs. Food was very good (only had sandwiches but everything was very nice). Saw the food others ordered and looked good. Great service. The pub isn't big and the restaurant gets full quickly. There's a heated marquee in the back however. Wound definately have a return visit

I found this little gem of a pub a few months ago. couldn't believe my luck when i walked in to a vibrant and energised atmosphere.Very friendly staff that really care about their customers and the service.Beers are kept well and really tasty.Food, well its out of this world, absolute compliments to the chef. amazing job.i live about 40 minutes away and its becoming a regular place to visit.Highly recommend experiencing the place.

We came here in a group of 6 on our holiday after walking here from sandy balls because having read the reviews it looked brilliant and wow it certainly was.The staff was very friendly, the service was excellent and the food was excellent.Having had family live in South Africa I had the South African beef curry which was brilliant.My fiancé and friend's food was also quality.Would highly recommend to anyone.

Fabulous pub. Friendly owner excellent selection of beers and food.I had the Vegan Vegetable pie. It had protein in it! Bravo! Excellent balance flavours and textures.A must visit if you're veggie and in the area. I'll definitely be going back in the future.

Several times in the last year we have bought takeaway delivery from the Horse and Groom, Jason and his team have always been a pleasure to deal with on the phone and over messages. We’ve not yet had the pleasure of going to the pub physically but the food we have had through takeaways has been top notch! Absolutely delicious, great portion sizes and quality and at a great reasonable price! Will definitely go for a visit soon!

This is one of the best pubs I've ever been to! We walked here from Tom's Field Camp site. Worth the trip! Delicious food and great service. Watch out for their specials menu :)
