The Restaurant at The Pig in New Forest

Fantastic setting in the New Forest. Great menu, locally sourced with excellent drinks list. Took my parents here for lunch. You have to reserve well in advance for a table. That should say it all! Well staffed hotel and restaurant. Perfect for a special occasion.

Had a wonderful wedding anniversary here. Staff were faultless and could not do enough,however was a very relaxed atmosphere and nothing too much trouble. Special shout out to the lovely gentleman who cleared our room of a giant wood wasp. Our hero! Ideal venue for special celebration. Food was excellent and all veg and herbs grown in their own grounds which you are free to walk around and inspect. The Elephant Garlic and Basil were particularly fragrant. Also the sow and piglets plus the Quails to see, so quite nice!

The building was beautiful, unfortunately they were booked up for food 6 weeks in advance so we were only able to get drinks, however they did offer us some chips which were amazing, and homemade mayonaise which was divine. The drinks were a little pricey and not to our taste but we cannot knock off a star based on that. The service was exceptional and we have a lovely time

Went for dinner, and was amazed at how good the food was, we had the artichoke and cured meats for starters... excellent, and for mains I had the best pork chop ever fabulous seriously good, my wife had the lamb which was also really good, we finished with desserts and cocktails. You have to come at least once The Pig is truly amazing, all staff were attentive and helpful you must must come

We didn't stay at the hotel but had a lovely dinner at the Pig. I tried the Sole dish, which was very fresh and well-seasoned, I really enjoyed it! The atmosphere was cosy and elegant and the service polite and efficient. The prices are quite high, but that is probably to be expected given the quality of the produce and the attention put on the decoration and service. Would definitely recommend it if you are in the area!One tip: If you are driving there during the evening, drive slowly as the road is dark and narrow and the location shown on the GPS wasn't exactly correct, we nearly missed the 'The Pig' sign.

While it's a beautiful place to eat and stay, the service in the restaurant is extremely slow, besides the restaurant manager who seated us (who was very attentive). We were a party of two, and spent 3 hours there having a two course meal. I had a cauliflower steak, which was delicious, but I expected there to be more variety on the plate than cauliflower and a salad. Perhaps some rainbow carrots and beetroot houmous to brighten it up? Or anything colourful that's in season? We paid far more for the decor and ambience than anything else, unfortunately. The Pig does have a good drinks selection, so I would rather stop off for just a drink after a walk around the area, which is stunning.

Well what an excellent evening we seen it on fabulous places to eat. So 4 of us Booked the place is Fantastic, Staff Brilliant especially DAISY 🌼😁👍Food was amazing only one CRITICISM if you pay if you pay £36 for your main dish you should NOT be expected to pay extra for Chips and Vegetables. As Service charge was £40. That aside would go back as a Special treat. 😋

Wonderful venue, wonderful service, nice atmosphere but the food, whilst nice, is underwhelming which leaves you with a sense of disappointment overall given the high prices. The wine list is astonishingly over priced for average wines. We expected so much more. The chair I had in the dining room was the most uncomfortable ever, so glad when we had finished eating. Hard to say this, but we wouldn't rush back there.

The piggy fours were to die for I'd kill for a home delivery of their chocolate mint pigs.Enjoyed a glass of sparkling English wine and a selection of starters. An unrivaled dining experience, can't wait to return for lunch...

We visited The Pig for food this afternoon and we had a lovely experience.The staff was very kind and welcoming, despite us being covered in mud from walking in the trails nearby! They kept our bags while we went for a walk and welcomed us to relax and have a drink when we showed up an hour earlier than our lunch reservation.The food was exceptional, the setting is beautiful and the staff was so friendly and welcoming.Even the cookie that comes with the espresso was incredible!!We would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area who is a foodie and wants to treat themselves to a special and unforgettable meal!
