The Station House at Holmsley in New Forest

Had to sit outside to ear from the lunch menu as it was Mother's day, Food was tasty, and the sun wax shining.

I have to admit we didn't go in for tea and cakes but they were absolute life savers when we became chronically lost and they help us with directions and a hand-drawn map. Anyone that kind must make superb tea and scones and offer warm and friendly service! Thanks guys.

This was my first time here and I loved it. All home made food which is excellent. Good value for money. Great friendly service. But, for me, the lady serving knew all the history of the station and the line. I will be back.

Been coming here for years as it is by far the best cream tea - even compared to high end hotels. The scones are incredible, home baked, very large and delicious compared to the likes of the captains club which in my opinion are no better than shop brought scones - there tiny.It's the first time I've ever been disappointed with my visit here. I felt the staff were trying a little too hard and their efforts seemed a little fake. The menu prices were completely different to their online menu (which I appreciate may need updating). But the thing that I really didn't appreciate is their new billing system. I couldn't understand why my bill was incorrect as the amount was in bold at the bottom - this now includes a 12.5% service charge which I felt is rather steep. I was also charged full price for changing my drink to another hot drink instead of paying the difference of the tea included. Whilst the waitress told me the service charge was optional I did feel i was rather forced to pay this as it was printed on the bill and the waitress had the card machine ready with this amount. I feel that the price increase is understandable in the current times and the food is totally worth it. But I really do not like the way the optional service charge is presented. I feel the option of a tip should be decided by the customer not forced upon.

As a visitor to the area, I was there for the first time recently after being recommended by a local. It was a lovely place; the staff were welcoming and looked after me very nicely (patiently allowing me to choose my baked goodies at leisure!). I found the service efficient and my coffee was made to my liking. I enjoyed a quiet hour or so, sitting outside in the attractive forecourt. Many of the original station features are preserved which gives great character. I would certainly want to make another visit when in the area again. Thank you.

What a lovely find, the old station tea room team looked after us and served up a delicious full English breakfast. Delighted to return a few days later for a light lunch of scampi & chips. Thank you

Lovely place with great food at sensible prices. It is popular so booking an indoor table, especially at lunchtime or for afternoon tea is recommended. There is some undercover outdoor seating and plenty of room in good weather in the garden. The vegetarian options are good. We had the falafel and hummus flatbread which was delicious and the macaroni cheese was lovely too.On another occasion we enjoyed a cooked breakfast. My husband was pleased with the full english, whilst my poached eggs on a bed of spinach were amazing.

The Old Station tea rooms, is well worth a visit. Comprehensive breakfast and main menu. Staff are very helpful, friendly and most welcoming. Service was excellent and the cooked breakfast was to die for. I will most definitely be back to try out more of these well presented and cooked meals at very competitive prices.

Visited twice today before and after a walk, though we parked elsewhere. Gorgeous cakes with coffee and outstanding afternoon cream teas. All well socially distanced service and seating tables. Highly recommended!
