The Trusty Servant in New Forest

Came here the other evening for my birthday and man, the food! It was absolutely phenomenal.The care and love the chef clearly put into each dish was evident. All of us have been raving about what we ate for days after.Highly recommend you take a chance and visit.You'll be glad you did.

Lovely break . Breakfast excellent. Evening meals very good. Staff polite and helpful. Room overlooking the green Lovely. Bed too soft for us but could not spoil a great 3 night stay. Highly recommended. Shame we had the storm of the century whilst we there.

Delicious pub lunch. I had the Ham hock & black pudding terrine with sourdough bread, venison & pearl barley stew with suet dumplings and a chocolate cheesecake to finish. Service was good, slight neg was they didn’t take cash payments.

Lovely pub and fantastic food. Went for lunch with 17 off us and Rob and the team were great. Easy communication and the food was superb and the portions huge. Definitely going back for more in future.

Popped in for a Sunday lunch. Service was very good and staff were friendly. The food was fantastic and it is safe to say the portions are very generous. We will be returning for sure.

Had planned to meet my family in the forest and meet outside for a sociably distanced walk.The weather turned typically British and rained- so we called the Trusty Servant who had a table available for 7! Ok we just stayed for drinks, but the settings were so lovely, smokey fires and delightful service. The Christmas decorations were subtle and perfect.The menu looked great ( even though we didn't eat)- something for everyone. However like all good establishments, the prices are higher than a while ago, but good food and service need's to be paid for. If it means that the chef, bar and waiting staff are paid a decent wage it's something we have to get used to. Looking forward to returning to eat after the new year.

With the location out in the New Forest, expect a nice drive accompanied with some wild horses & donkeys. The pub itself has a lovely ambience with fireplaces giving it an extra smell of Christmas. Dogs are welcome & that adds to the family friendly vibe making it welcoming for all.Service was exceptional to be fair with the young waiters & waitresses on it like a car bonnet. However, the food was a real let down...and the bigger prices you would expect a great deal better. The vegetables lacked any sort of flavour, my burger was at best average, and the French fries compared to the pub chips...just made my burger dish look below par.Shame about the food but everything else was great.

A lovely pub, situated basically in the New Forest. Ample walking opportunities are right nearby, and it's reasonably easy to get to by car.The food is lovely - I had a venison stew, my partner a chorizo and wild boar cassoulet, and our friend had a gigantic slice of pie and chips. We enjoyed each dish and would honestly recommend any of them. Service is good, if a little persistent in getting you to order things at the table, but honestly I can't think of any downsides. Recommended!

Good size portions, food is fantastic. Pre-ordered for a group of 12 including 2 kids and all went smoothly. Walk at Acres Down followed by Trusty Servant for a large lunch. Would recommend.

Spent one night here with friends, at the end of September.Booked because it's dog friendly & they serve evening meals.Room was really big, beautiful decor, very clean & modern, same for the en suite.Evening meal choices were very good, varied for choice & all reasonably priced.Breakfast was also fantastic, not for the feint of heart. All locally sourced & very tasty. The chef even found something suitable for the doggy's breakfast, (sausages had leek in them, which is not good for furry friends)!Staff were very friendly & helpful.Would go here just for evening meal. Hoping to return next year for another stopover. Thank you all for an enjoyable stay.I will be returning sooner, as my friends & I will be going here for our annual Christmas evening meal. After my review from my stay here in September & the Christmas menu choices, this venue has won hands down for our visit this year. Looking forward to a good evening with good friends in a beautiful pub with fantastic food choices.
