The Wheel Inn in New Forest

Stopped here today looking for a late lunch having been unlucky elsewhere. Very pleasantly surprised. Excellent decor and friendly, efficient service.Food cooked and presented beautifully. 10oz. Sirloin with rack of cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, peas and chips for £18. Also OAP (smaller portion) meals available; for those with a less demanding appetite than my good-self. My wife had the scampi which was also excellent. We will definitely be back.

We had to book a room at short notice and stayed in a twin room. The room itself was great but, the 3/4 single beds aren't wide enough for an adult. The price was very reasonable.The food in the restaurant/bar was fantastic as was the local ale.

First time visit and loved it. Mushroom Arancini and one of the best burgers ever. Fair priced, nice atmosphere plus weekly events. Proper pub.

Lovely light and airy local independent pub with friendly staff and amazing reasonably priced food - accessible loo - plenty of space so you are not sat on top of other tables. Would recommend.

Party of 8 Saturday lunch. Very clean & tidy, a destination venue- surprised few tables but we were there fairly late but gather recently refurbished etc so may be kicking off. Food was all good & starters grand sized. Looking to book pre Xmas lunch. We all thought food was well priced & all good sized portions. Certainly worth our intended return.

We chose lamb shank for my husband and breast of duck for me. This was the first time we had eaten at the New Wheel so we had no idea of the quality of the food. (Except there were very positive review for the few weeks it has been open). After ordering and considering the prices, my husband was fairly confident that it would have come out of the freezer and the portions would be miniscule. We were therefore pleasantly surprised to see plenty of fresh vegetables with the meats displayed beautifully on the plate the equal of any top flight restaurant. My husband was impressed with the lamb, the sauces and the tenderness of the meat. My duck was tender and really tasty with an excellent tangy sauce. Cooked to perfection. Well done The New Wheel and the great chef.

What a fantastic place to have a great Sunday roast. It was our first visit to the Wheel Inn and it wont be our last. All the recent renovation work has been done to a high standard and the place is stunning. Now the food WOW !! a perfect roast , good size portions and good prices. Sorry I didn't include a photo but when the food came I had a little taste and couldn't put my cutlery down it was stunning. Highly recommended and ring to book. We'll be beck to try the breakfast's this week, mouth watering just thinking about it already !!
