The Sunday roast was epic! I had the veggie roast and it was delicious. The staff were lovely and it was a great pub to visit with kids. Brilliant location after a days cycling.

Beautiful beautiful beautiful, stayed for a weekend and found the whole stay to be beyond our expectations. Lovely room, decor and the Gun Room is so relaxing to sit in for an evening drink or game of cards. The staff are polite, helpful and welcoming. We're already planning our next stay.

We stayed for 2 nights. Nice location, rooms, ambience in Hotel. Questionable Customer Service (Restaurant staff - evenings). Food was very disappointing:Breakfasts: Cooked food served warm with warm coffee. Had to do own toast with temperamental toaster, with little help from staff.Afternoon Tea: limited choice / availability - only one choice of cake which was dry. No afternoon teas available.Evening Dinner: Again, very limited choice / availability with all dishes. Cooked food, served warm, with re-heated chips and salads over saturated with Olive Oil. Desserts and wine okay. Not worth the money. We decided to eat out in the end.Revisit / Recommendation: We wouldn't revisit this Hotel and certainly couldn't recommend to family / friends because of the food situation.

We have had the best Sunday roast ever! Had an extra person to add to our booking so phoned ahead to check this was okay, lady on the phone was very accommodating and found us an extra seat.Staff were super friendly and the service was great.Portions were huge and we all struggled to finish our meals.Would absolutely recommend this little gem of place.

A lovely building and gardens in a beautiful setting in the New Forest just outside Burley. We found the staff all very welcoming (our server Julie was excellent). They made us and our dog Tango very welcome. We ate lunch here on two different days during our holiday in late February. The first time (a Tuesday), the food was OK if a little pricey (£16 for burger & chips, similar for fish and chips), but we realise that the overheads must be very high and for the overall experience and lovely setting it was fine. The second time on a Friday, either we just chose better or maybe the food was also better cooked - chicken breast, steak pie, mash and fresh veg all nicely cooked. This also seemed like better value at £15.It was a lovely sunny day and there were quite a few customers sat outside on the large patio, with plenty of staff on hand to serve.

We Visited at lunch time for a bite to eat, we were very happy to find it not very busy, we were seated and advised it was table service, the lady took our drinks order and left us menus, drinks arrived and our food order was taken, thus far all very good.I ordered the burger £16 not cheap but had eaten here before so thought the food would be good. Well how wrong was I, I have attached a photo so no more will be said except that we also had the try and find a waitress for the next 10 minutes to get some cutlery to eat our now cold food with, I think in this day and age the hospitality industry need to be a little more attentive of there customers otherwise they will be one time customers only. You can decide by the picture if you think this was worth the £16 I was charged !!!!

Staff as pleasant as the surroundings. This calm friendly ambience speaks well for the management. As good as it was 40 years ago. Well done one and all. Plenty of parking for cars and horses. Clean especialy where we all wish it to be. Enjoy.

Had lunch today with my other half. Food was ok, service was polite enough but had to go looking for staff for cutlery when meal was served. Small portions for the price. The burger was £16 & with very few chips. We want a decent portion of food for that price when we go out. My other half said the burger was nice but had a third of the chips than me which I had a side portion which was £4!! I had sourdough with lentilPate also, which was too rock hard! Lemonade in my vodka was £1.25 for a dash of. Overpriced for what we got. Why doesn’t anyone serve decent portions at decent prices anymore!?

What a find! We prebooked and had our own room for 11 of us, plus toddler and 3 dogs🐾 The menu was good, the food good portions and well cooked.... Delicious.... Puddings were small portions for the prices charged but they were good. Service was excellent. The other parts of the place were very busy with a constant stream of people coming in to eat. Beautiful gardens and surrounding area. Would definitely book again..

We've now had two very enjoyable meals here with family. We've been for Sunday Lunch and an evening meal and enjoyed the food both times.A good range of beers including a few craft ales and very enjoyable food.Family also commented that the fabric of the building is much improved from the renovation over lock down.
