Lovely view and terrace for warmer days. I enjoyed my visit and the food.

Nice location, lovely to visit the restaurant after taking in the museum. However, the afternoon tea is seriously bad value for money. £25 per person. Two of us, so for £50 we had a small stand with a trio of small finger sandwiches each, a scone each (with a bit of cream and a small jam pot to share) and some petit fours. Oh, and a hot drink each. For £50. For the same outlay, we could have had a main meal each along with a drink and still have spent less. The afternoon tea is to be avoided if value is important. As an experience it's lovely, but for £50 it's a jolly expensive "experience".

A bit so so really. Nice atmosphere but waiting staff were rather forgetful.Twice asked for a bottle of water, and twice ordered some bread to start, which eventually arrived after our meals so we sent it back.My salad arrived about 8 minutes after the other two hot main courses. The food was good: bouillabaisse had loads of fish but was a little thick. Good veg bourguignon and the crayfish salad starter. Also nice vegan choc pudd.Shame about the service.

I've had afternoon tea in the past and it was lovely. Unfortunately not this time. Table was not set, everything just out at sude of table, couldn't get staff attention for anything, not much food or as good. There was just nothing special about it in anyway.

The staff were very nice and attentive, the location is superb and great for when the weather is nice. The afternoon tea was nice but I was expecting a bit more for the price. The cakes on top were all quite plain and tasted the same so it needed some variety. The sandwiches were okay but also a bit bland.

The room is the only good thing about this restaurant. It is light and airy as you might expect though the 'view' is really only of the Randolph Hotel's roof. The food was truly awful (pictures attached). I had the terrine to start (if you zoom in on the picture you can see the thick black hair I found just after I took the photo). The cod was watery and bland and my pudding (the banana) tasted as revolting as it looked (it certainly wasn't prepared that day). There were two of us, we had three courses and a bottle of wine and the bill (with tip that they just include without asking) came to £98. Oxford has so much more to offer in this price range. I can see it being quite good for a cup of tea/coffee if you happen to be in the museum but I would not recommend eating here. It's a shame as it could be an amazing place given the right chef. It was more than half empty on a Saturday night which says everything about the quality of the food.

I had a wonderful afternoon tea for 1 at the rooftop restaurant. The rooftop views were gorgeous and the tea and goodies wonderfully filling. Service was really good. It's really something else to just zip through a museum or wander through the museum to head to the rooftop for afternoon. Can't wait for next time...I'll order the proseco.

Fantastic. Large, modern and airy rooftop terrace. After a great exhibition come and relax here. Great wines and spirits for everybody. Extremely attentive staff even when busy. Feeling hungry? Check out their fab menu. Will be coming here a fair bit. 💕

Food good enough, staff delightful and attentive, location spectacular, on the top floor of the Ashmolean Museum, looking out over the rooftops of Oxford. Too early in the year for the open air roof terrace when I was there, but I will be back for that experience.

Went there with a group of friends for Afternoon Tea and it was a great choice. Not very crowded, the staff is very polite and the food was great. Look out for the scones, they are amazing! The only drawback is that they close at 5, so go there early if you want to take it slow and not rush through the food.
