Barefoot is one of my favorites bakeries in the world. They have both common and unusual flavors of cakes. Amazing gluten free options too. Don’t forget to try the salted caramel brownie.

Cute place, but the chocolate cake was dry and coffee just ok. I tried it again because of all the rave reviews and a desperate craving for a brownie. I wanted a less sweet brownie with nuts and I was given a peanut butter brownie with a lotus biscuit on top…. Didn’t quite hit my brownie spot. It was still too sweet, no actual nuts, and a bit oily - off to the dustbin it went. Suffice it to say I won’t be back.

Lovely place to sit in with comfy cushions and lots of space. Amazing cakes!

What a disappointment!I popped into Barefoot Jericho this morning to pick up some cakes for a special afternoon tea. They looked delicious but unfortunately looks can be deceiving! The Sticky toffee apple loaf was dense and tasted of nothing but “ sweet”. The buttercream icing had a nice texture but again had no taste other than “sweet”.The peanut butter and honey cake had no taste of peanut butter or honey. It was quite dry and apart from a couple of random half peanuts no flavour other than sweet. Very disappointing as it looked lush and unctuous. The Rose, pistachio and raspberry cake was horribly dry with the barest hint of rose flavour in the top 1cm. The raspberries were only detectable by their hard seeds which didn’t quite disguise the bits of pistachio shell! All in all a bit of a cake buying disaster!A very embarrassing afternoon all round, as my poor guests had to admit each of their cakes was “ not worth the calories “ and the only alternative I had was some ginger cookies.

The cake selection and quality is excellent. The salted caramel brownies and raspberry chocolate brownies, in particular, are great. The glaring issue is that their coffee is still terrible and has not improved. It is weak, mediocre, and made with poor technique. The prices are very steep for what you are getting, even by North Oxford standards.

Cakes and coffee so good we stopped in twice in one day! They have a smorgasbord of tasty treats, the pic is of a delight called a Cruffin!! Yes a Croissant muffin! A taste bud pleasing creation that is guaranteed to leave you wanting more!To put the cherry on top the staff are top quality and the coffee will make you wonder why you ever wasted your time at Starbucks...Get yourself down and sample Barefoot!

I had an excellent flat white and most delicious and generous piece of banana bread. Really well maintained cafe with friendly service. Did I mention the coffee was superb?

Got my brownie box from them and it has been making my week so much better already!! I have had their cakes and pound cakes before as well and I can truly say this place has something special that I have not had in many cafes! They have emailed back very quickly and the packaging and the quality of brownie is out of this world! Highly recommend!! It will be great if there will be a small student discount but other than this fabulous cafe!!
